Actually, tickets would be hard, I am trying to get an autographed jersey. My point is for something like that, you might have to throw in a sweetener for the player. Like donate money to his charity or something. $140 dollars probably won't cut it, but $500 just might. My dream prize would be a Derrick Rose signed jersey, next year another jersey by another player or a ball signed by a player or team. I would also want the jersey to be authentic, so that would have to come out of the pot, but the value of the jersey would be so much more than what was put in. I would want to do something different every year, even if it is a gift pack of a large assortment of bulls collectibles. The idea is to make the game fun and competitive every year. That is what I am trying to do....

The only issue is for me, the pay pal thing. I don't have an account and I don't think my parents would buy into the idea of me using one just to play in a fantasy basketball league. I could potentially give someone the money in person no problem, but the pay pal thing may be an issue for me.

You can send a money order then, I am sorry guys, I am 34 and I haven't taken into account how young some of you are. Matter of fact, quit arguing with me online! I am a grown ass man! Just kidding...whatever way you want to do it is fine, send a money order and I will put your money in the pot myself.

I just reread your message, the paypal account belongs to the league. The idea is to have a centralized place where you and the other owners can go and see the money when you want, that way you know that other people are not messing with the money. The money will be used to get the prize or prizes...

If we get any prizes and money is left, it will stay in the pot and hopefully we can get something even better the next year. But the paypal account will be visible to all owners in the league. But if that doesn't work for you, I can put money in for you and you send me a money order.

If you have not voted, vote now on the poll! You got until midnight and at that time another poll will be up, concerning the draft time. That would be a mandatory vote as I want everyone's input, we must accomodate everybody. I want the guys in Australia and Germany and everywhere else to be comfortable and cognizant when drafting. That is the most important time of the fantasy season. So I want everybody's input, I want all of you involved because everybody is equally important so vote on the keepers if you can...thanks.

That´s why I said I don´t like the price thing. It should be about fun not about money. I´ve played a soccer fantasy game and money ruined it pretty much.

Agreed, I think it should be a free league.

If you want fun, money is where its at! When you play for "fun" you only have fun when you are winning in most cases.

I want to get this league going, so I am willing to compromise, but I think that a "fun" league will only be fun for contenders after a couple of months...

You very well could be right, I haven't played in a prize league but I doubt the bottom teams will care anyway if its for money. If your out of it, your out of it.

Re:

in a keeper league that goes from year to year with money on the line they do care. in most cases those who are not contending try to set themselves up for the following season. Who are they going to keep and then concern themselves with who they can draft the following year to help out their players. That is the added dimension that keeps people interested. playing for fun? doesn't work at all.

Okay, I have the poll up so I can figure out what is what concerning a possible buy in. I am one who is adamant about buying in. I believe that fantasy league without money...is bingo. I don't play bingo...I would if there is a prize at the end, something worth attaining, so all owners should log in and vote and then we will go from there.

To all men and guys under the age of 16. Fantesy Leauges are ALWAYS played with money. How else are you supposed to get excited about it, or stay involved throught a long season. I wouldnt even want to play a leauge that didnt involve money! I am not talking major bucks here. If we all throw in $10 and we get a badass prize, its worth it. Personally, I think $20 should be the amount. I mean, come on! That is the cost of a meal!

If I was out of school, had a job or other source of income (not sure how that would work, but regardless), then I would have no problems paying money for this. Heck I would be willing to pay $40. But since I am a student without a job, who relies on parents for money, and who has parents that are not very open to the idea of me giving money to people I've never actually met (not that I don't trust you or anything) just to play fantasy basketball. I can probably do $10 cash in the mail to Houston, but that's about it. Then there's the whole money in the mail issue to deal with...I still really want to play though. There's no way I would stop trying in a league like this.

I understand your situation dude. No worries. I was a student only a few years back and spent my parents money of only resposnible things too...like booze and going to the nudie bar. I also understand your worries about sending money to someone you dont know in the mail. That however is something we all have to deal with (though I don't have to ask my parents for permission...HAHA JK JK JK). Houston could be a drug crazed crack addict for all I know and will steal my money to buy crack and hookers. It is a chance I am willing to take, because Houston has an Michael Jordan icon and dammit that means he's "ok" by me. I understand everyone's position and I understand not everyone can afford $10. I spoke with Houston and I think with this leauge, we gotta go with majority rules. Enough of us want to play with cash. If CloneTrooper is in for $10, can we all make this work? There are what, 15 or so of us? That is $150 for us to get some baddass Bulls prize! If enough of us want to play for $20, I am ok with that too and letting CloneTropper pay for $10 (or hell making a rule, 21 and under play for $10...whatever...)

Houston my vote is the prize goes to something Derrick Rose!

I'm all for the age rule thing. I'm pretty sure Bullsman24 is younger than I am and he might have the same troubles I do (or he might have a job, idk) and others may as well. But if you have a job and can afford to pay $10 or more I say go for it.

The under 21 rule is fine by me, that is a very good idea. All of my information will be available to everybody, I will give home and cell numbers out. Obviously any prize won will have a return address on it to me. But I would like to have volunteers in two areas. MY GOAL is to have a thriving fantasy league that continues year after year from now on. Because it carries the site's name, I take the responsibility very seriously and I am working hard to perfect it. Having Mark involved lends credibility to it but to Clonetrooper and Bullsman 24 and other youngins under 21 (21 year olds are youngins to me), you should have a reduced fee until you have gainful employment or you are grown (21), by the way, how old are you guys?

1. One other person can assist me in managing the league, being available to answer all questions, approve trades and other transactions...etc.

2. Would like two people to help me decide on a prize annually, would like to decide on the prize before the season starts and announce it when we get, I would like the announcement to be made over the allstar break.

Finally, since Clonetrooper is such a damn trooper and willing to work with us, I will make up the difference between his fee and whatever the fee is...

Here is another question. How do I trust newcomers are actually under 21 and not just trying to pay a cheaper rate?

Haha I have made a difference in something! Well I am actually under 21. Newskool would vouch for me, but he ran away from here out of disgust until the season starts (hopefully he will actually return). I'm 17 if you want my exact age. Thanks a lot for the age rule (and making up whatever the fee difference is), it shows that you older folk really do care about us ;)

Well damn, I am almost old enough to be your pappy! That is wild. You will need a signed permission slip from your parents...jk.

After this year, any one saying they are under 21 will have the burden of proving that they are under 21.

For now, I want to know who all are under 21 and have signed to own a team? You have to NOT have a vocation...

And the league has spoken...2 keepers a year. All owners will be allowed to keep 2 keepers every season, all other players are draft eligible.
