What about a unicorn? They are pretty much horses. But magical. And kind of ***. I'm wondering if you ate one if you would suffer some kind of negative karma for eating such a magnificent creature or...if you would absorb some of that unicorn magic and / or gayness. And if the latter, what is the ratio of magical to ***? Or is the karma having to absorb *** unicorn mojo, punishment enough to satisfy the universe's need for balance? And Are we talking "pull a rabbit out of a hat" magic or are we talking "make the Statue of Liberty" disappear level shit? As for the ***, are we taking Rock Hudson *** or Richard Simmons ***?

It's probably something to think about some more. Bookmarking this thread for later.

Posting under the influence is a felony over state lines.

What are your favorite meals? Main course, sides, throw a beverage in there if you want. Here are a few of mine to get it rolling...

Relatively Healthy:

Grilled Salmon with steamed asparagus and wild rice. (actually what I ate for dinner tonight)

Not So Healthy:

A big fat rib eye, medium rare. Loaded baked potato and a Ceasar salad. I also dig red wine with steak, e.g. Cabernet.

What else ya got....

What are you talking about healthy and unhealthy? Minimal difference between the two.

Fairly big difference in fat content between steak and salmon. But the biggest thing is the potato. When I say "loaded", I mean cheese / bacon / butter / sour cream etc. That's the real killer right there.

Had a huge glass of milk with a peanut butter danish. Essentially died while eating it.

Uh no. Salmon is an extremely fatty fish. Maybe a couple of grams difference at most between a 10oz salmon and a 10oz ribeye.

Generally speaking more cholesterol in steak (not a big deal) and more sodium in salmon (also not a big deal). The difference is negligible.

But the biggest thing is the potato. When I say "loaded", I mean cheese / bacon / butter / sour cream etc. That's the real killer right there.

Again not really a big deal, you might be taking in more calories. If you hit your macronutrient requirements that's irrelevant too.

One of these meals isn't healthy, while the other is unhealthy. That's a silly thing to say.

They aren't that close.

Ribeye - http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/calories/usda-choice-ribeye-steak-50527488 . Let's say a 12oz portion - 60 grams of fat.
Salmon - http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/calories/generic-salmon-baked-50350266 . Same portion size, 25 g.

When my target is something like 25% for fat, that is a huge difference (which breaks out to a total of like 60-70g for the entire day). That's not even counting all the shit I put on the potato.

kcal total is a big deal if you are cutting, regardless of the protein / carb / fat split. "Healthy" might have not been the best way to position it. Probably could have been better phrased that one is more conducive to hitting my targets on a daily basis right now.

Salmon is excellent food, so much good stuff in there. Doesn't even compare to steak or ribeye.

Are you Special person? You posted a "healthy meal" as GRILLED salmon, then just posted the nutritional information for BAKED salmon to show a disparity in fat content.

You realize that cooking methods alter nutritional content correct? Why not just post the nutritional information for a deep fried salmon to prove nothing? Let's try this again.

A 6 ounce salmon, dry heat (grilled)

http://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/finfish-and-shellfish-products/4259/2

22 Grams of fat, though in reality it's between 20 to 25grams

That's a half of a fillet hombre.

A 6 ounce ribeye is going to be between 25 and 30g of fat.

Like I said, there is little difference.

Except there is not much of a difference.

If one meal is making it hard for you to hit your marks... you're doing something wrong.

If you were in a bar and nva was sitting behind you and was having this exact conversation with someone, your first words to him would be "are you retarted?" I doubt it ...

The difference in the two is saturated vs unsaturated fat. A ribeye has mostly saturated fat while salmon has mostly unsaturated fat. Saturated fat, in moderation, is not bad for you. Unsaturated fat is good for you

Um no. Don't make blanket statements when you don't know what you're talking about. Thanks.

The size is irrelevant as long as they are equal to one another. The problem was the difference between baking and grilling. But thanks for posting.

Probably Pho... not overly a fan of whey.

never heard of it. But I'm no longer a gym rat. Is that easier for the body to digest or does it taste better? why pho?
