Do you think he's ready to quit college?

Good question.I'm not a proponent of players leaving school early. If a guy is going to be academically ineligible(Olsen) it's one thing. But if he's in good standing academically then IMO he should finish his degree.Career ending events can happen at any time and to be this close to having a fallback plan and not complete it would be unwise.

On the other hand you have to ask if another yr in NCAA would help or hinder him.He does play on a very good team in an excellent organization that fosters a winning attitude.Great place to learn both on and off the ice(so I'm told). However he plays a very physical type of game that is probably better suited to the pros.So you have to ask yourself if he can properly develop that aspect of his game in the NCAA,or whether he would be better served playing tougher competition in the AHL at this point in his career.

As bad as I want to see him banging bodies for the Hogs,I won't be too upset if he stays in school another yr.I have a good feeling about this kid and the thought of him,Olsen and Seabrook patrolling the Hawks blueline makes me smile.:D

Do you think they will put McNeill on the wing?

Really hoping they put him at center right away where he is going to have the most value going forward.

Agreed. They need to see what he can do in a 2nd/3rd line center role. The Hawks are using wingers at center so I doubt they want to turn a natural center into a winger.Especially a big strong 2way type center that they sorely need.Or would they!! :nervous:

Rockford has several centers that have to play wing. Especially when you get to the bottom 6.

I have a feeling if it comes down to McNeill or just about anyone else on the team, McNeill will go to the position he's more comfortable/where the Hawks want him.

Totally agree on Johns at ND. McNeil, well, we'll have to see. If the plan is to develop him here in Chicago (a la Leddy) next year, I'll probably be pissed. It's not like he was a top 5 pick.

They just signed Broadhurst and had McNeill assigned there. Were they at their roster limit maybe and needed the space ?? Not sure of the AHL rules for this

Read that he got the 2011 Guy Carbonneau trophy in the QMJHL, their version of the Selke.

Loving everything I read/hear about the Blackhawks prospects, particularly at forward.

Blackhawks assign 2011 draft pick Phillip Danault to Rockford - Chicago Blackhawks - News

A lot of analysts/fans who see him play are pretty excited about his future. Some real young Center depth all of a sudden...I like it.

It would explain the moves (the lack of) that the Hawks have made in the off season and deadline.

Plug the holes until young guys are ready and then make a run like 2010... young eager depth surrounding the experienced core (though they weren't particularly experienced in 2010).

wow, what a game! Fahey ties it with like 4 secs left & they win it in a shootout after being down 2-0 in it.

Anyone got the details on the all-out brawl I've been hearing about at the Hogs game today?

Carter Hutton got 15 PIMs, so I assume a goalie fight was involved.
