Yes, we're light on draft picks, no 1st or 2nd; so only our 3rd Rounder may compete to start. So I'm not saying replace the lost FA starters with 2019 draft picks...
Rather the point I'm making is: if we lose out on Callahan and/or Amos, we use that money to get 2 impactful FAs (RB & OLB) missing from 2018 to help win the SB in 2019, RATHER than spreading out that money with 4-5 mediocre FAs who merely have a chance at beating out a current Bear.
As an example, if we lose Amos, we let Bush, DCH and a draft compete to start. And use that money on a blue chip RB and OLB. Don't waste that money on a FA Safety that will merely compete with the other 3 Safeties. Ultimately we want drafts to replace lost FAs. If spend on a FA, go blue chip impactful starter, and we don't need one at SS, compared to RB or OLB.
