You're a moron. Players aren't playing to lose. They have jobs or money on the line. Coaches are almost never playing to lose because they have limited job security and are generally, if they have respect in the locker room, coaching for their players that are playing their asses off.
Stop holding grudges on a message board, man. Jeeeezzz. 😂

Not holding a grudge. I think you are one of the dumbest people on ccs. Or else a child, in which case I apologize for being hard on you. If you are an adult, I apologize to society that darwinism hasn't taken care of you yet
I don’t know if that user has made one valid post in the year they have been a CCS member.

Nope. Far from it. This place just has a bunch of profiles that are followers, that’s all. Most Bears fans that I know in real life have said they’d prefer a higher draft pick than a meaningless season ending win against the Packers, although I do have a few comrades that care more about beating the Packers than anything else.

I would prefer the higher pick. The point about players and coaches should/do throw games is what I was highlighting as incredibly dumb.

Question man. Do you believe it’s a possibility that a GM (Ryan Poles) can have a conversation with his employee (HC Flus) about the need to tank a season, and then that HC proceeds to put the team in position to lose as many games as possible via play calls, substitutions, etc..?

That went well for Dolphins owner when he asked Flores to tank.

I'm sure flus, a coach who was already not a well-liked hire and won't ever get another HC gig, is going to intentionally get himself on the hot seat to get his gm a good pick. I think flus was just a terrible coach with a terrible roster.

Lol The fact that the same profiles join in to push the same narrative together confirms that I’m good at what I do 😉
That's not what happens. Sometimes people agree and sometimes they don't. It's a message board, this is how they work.

Most people who've cared to comment don't think players tank on purpose. That's all.

I believe that about you, but not some of the others. I’ve agreed with more of your posts, than I disagreed with.

Either way, it’s no big deal. I’m just having fun with it, that’s all.

Of course.

But I don't think too many people on here are out to get others, unless they have a long history that goes past football.

See that’s the thing, man. It was their first season together and they were expected to be terrible, so there would not have been a hot seat.

There's been enough coaches who only got 1 year with awful teams that a nobody coach like flus doesn't have leeway to tank. 3-14 can get you fired no matter what. We also saw the next 2 years that he has no idea how to win games

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Going through the trouble of asking people with an elite level of competitiveness to intentionally lose games to get a couple slots in a draft is insane... as if moving up a couple slots will make or break the team cause the draft is barren after the 7th pick. This difference is the value of a 3rd round pick if the Bears did feel they were so desperate to have a specific player and pull off a trade... and losing a 3rd round pick isn't franchise-altering either.

Especially when probably half of them aren't even under contract the following year. They are all playing for themselves to one degree or another.

Picks 1-7 are elite. Picks 8-End of draft are bust. Duhhhhhhh didn’t you know this?

Jimmy Johnson was 1 - 15 his first year in Dallas as the team tanked.

It was much less common for coaches to get fired after one year in 1989 than today.

Also that tank, as well as the Bears 2022 tank, were planned by management.

You can make an organizational decision that you are rebuilding and hence trading short term assests away for long term assets.

However, in most cases regardless of that organizational decision coaches and players try to win. It is just that the resources they have to win are severely limited by the organizational decision above.

You dont want to get in the habit of coaching or playing to lose. You half ass it on the field and you are liable to get injured.
