Awfully small sample you're pulling from... the year before, the Broncos were in the Super Bowl. They had a legit #1 WR...
I thinks its the other way around. A #1 QB can get you there with a #1,2, or 3 reciever.

yes they had 1 not 2.....and they got humiliated by seahawks.

my whole point to any of this is....we are in good shape at WR.......everywhere else were pretty fuct, so It just dosent make sense to me to draft a WR, with are 1st pick, when we are in such terrible shape every where else.

I don't disagree that we're in pretty decent shape at WR, but I think Pace's offseason moves so far with all the 1-year prove-it deals, he is committing to building through the draft and if Cooper/White are BPA, I'm okay with it.

I would prefer a game changer on defense too, but the quickest way to having a competitive team is to accumulate the best players in general.

A receiver dont make a QB or a offense while the other positions make a offense or defense basically.

This. I was just making a point that I don't view pulling from 1 Super Bowl and saying there were no #1 WR's in the game meaning they aren't necessary a little short-sighted.

They are fun to watch and good for fantasy football. But a #1 QB can get by without them and a team with no QB sucks with them.

Well Okung was the 6th overall pick in the draft and we are all familiar with Solder. Many of us wanted the Bears to draft him he went in the middle rounds.

Centers and Guards you can exclude that position they rarely get drafted in the 1st round.

DE definitely can help get you there.

Uh Solder went 17th overall. 12 picks before the Bears drafted Carimi 29th that year.

Its just tough because its like the only way to get to the Superbowl and win it without a QB is through defense. So taking a reciever just defeats the purpose especially if we already have a stud.

O yea we use to debate on what Tackle we prefered. Kinda like what we doing with the OLB/ DE now.

I still hope we go best defensive player or maybe trade down a few spots. WR is very deep in this class and edge rusher is top heavy. Getting one of the top edge players would be ideal.

Depending on how the board drops if cooper or white are there the a Browns very well could trade up. And Shelton and and edge rusher (Dupree, Harold) could be a nice combo.

if I had to make a list, of all the positions the Bears need an upgrade/ help at . WR and guard would be last on that list.
there's no way the only position worth picking at 7 is a WR.

Actually, WR and G should be high on the list.

WR's are hood ornaments.

QB's are the engine.

And, yes, that contradicts my previous post a little. :)

I've never farmed broccoli, but I know people who have and consider myself an advocate.

I hope you support the brussel sprout movement as well. Poor bastards.

The nice part of these moves is that it really does open up the draft a lot at the top end.

The Bears could use a true difference making pass rusher, but they have enough guys at the position.

The Bears could use a 5 technique, but they have guys who can play and they could add a 2nd-3rd round pick to compete and develop.

The Bears could use a safety, but this draft sucks.

With the number of defensive needs that were addressed today I think the possibility of WR went up as well.
