Kinda like most of his draft picks back when he was actually employed

Greg Gabriel has been wrong about a lot of things lately.

He's got some kind of strange tunnel vision regarding 40 times. It's weird. 40 times are useful tools but he acts like they are a 100% unassailable proof for a player's game speed.

We need some guys who can reliably produce in 2018.

Even I understand that the top of the list is Landry.

Gabriel is like a 14 yr old girl that didn't get asked to the school dance, only a 14 yr old girl would be right about NFL subjects more often then him.

Ah the Al Davis syndrome. Let's waste all our money and high draft picks on whoever runs the fastest 40 time. There's no way it'd fail. Foolproof plan!

Greg Gabriel was on the Hub Arkush radio show today ripping into Jarvis Landry. Hub said he’d be playing that sound bite for years to come. :)

He keeps on regurgitating the Landry 4.7 40. But dude pulled his hamstring at the combine, he ran a 4.5 at his pro day.

However Gabriel was trained as a scout clearly the importance of the underwear 40 time was stressed to him. What importance does a 40 have years ago, when Landry has already been in the NFL producing to this point?

At the end of the day it doesn't matter. He's not a prospect, he's produced in the NFL. No one thinks he's a speed demon, he's obviously fast enough. Gabriel bringing up his 40 time just makes him look stupid.

I have been anti-Landry, and I would never tell you he doesn’t have value.

His consistency is ridiculous.

Can you imagine if someone told you a WR would never miss a game and have 4000 yards in 4 years, we would throw our own mothers out of the way to give him 14/season.

This is the argument that won me over.

We know what we will get. We know he will produce, we know he can win on 3rd down.

And we all know what Adam Gase really thinks of Jay Cutler. He knows how inconsistent he is, and he designs an offense around short passes. The last thing he wanted was to have Cutler out there thinking too much. He wanted Cutler getting rid of the ball ASAP to his playmakers. Add to that the awful offensive line, and Landry needed to be used more at the line of scrimmage and carry the entire offense on his back.

Why does this guy's opinion get posted around here so much? It's not like he offers some great insight or anything of that nature.

He occasionally does have some gold nuggets. He was one of the few that was adamant, foaming at the mouth that there would be 3 QB's picked Top 10 in last years draft when a lot of people were thinking no way. In between him arguing with randoms on twitter he's got some legit sources in there.
