Finished out my garden today. I've got 9 broccoli plants, 9 cauliflower plants, 9 spinach plants, 50 onions, 4 squash, 3 zucchini, 15 tomatoes and 35 various peppers.

Yeah...every time I pre-tilled it got a little bigger...it's about 18x24 now.

Onions are just yellow and red...pepper types are green and yellow bells, sweet banana, fooled you, jalapeno, purple beauty, holy mole, cayenne and some sort of giant grilling pepper.

Yeah, with an early seasonal start to summer and a baby on the way, I wanted to get it in early this year. My in laws came over today and picked spinach and onions for salad...Imma pick a few cups of spinach for a pesto tonight I think.

Just a minor update. Broccoli is looking like broccoli, spinach is looking good, and a gentle rain today has perked everything up.

Planted a 30x12 ft sunflower field where our corn was last year. Tilled up a same size space for tomatoes and beans. Planted 20 cabbages and 16 various chilis we grew indoors from seed. Got about 16 square feet of homemade compost this season. Gonna be an awesome year.

I have to say, gardening is a workout. At least on certain levels. Feeling wirey and sore after my second day of tilling. Plus getting close to the ground and crouching are not normal activities for me. I probably should drink gatorade instead of mint juleps when im out there.

Several inches of snow on the ground. Thank goodness I haven't planted yet! Growing season is going to be short this year!
