Minnesota has an awesome top D pairing in Ryan Suter and 20-year old Jonas Brodin. After that? Not much else on defense. This is where the Hawks depth scorers will need to take advantage.

I guess this is the match up that everyone wanted...I mean I wanted it too but just so the Hawks had home ice. It's pretty much the same team as last year with different goalies but the difference from what I've seen is that this year they can score some goals. I doubt this series is gonna be a walk in the park.

I would be the exception.

Felt we really dominated the Avs this season on the ice - just couldn't bury the puck.

Think it would have been a much different story in the playoffs.

I don't think the Wild's play matches up very well with ours. I hate the muck-it-up style of D. And it seems that if they get a lead on us, it's really hard to get back in it.

Will be a great series.

As far as home ice goes, the hawks do have a pretty phenomenal home ice playoff record. But, it only really matters IMO if we get to game 7. It really hasn't seemed to be a big factor for most team so far in the playoffs.

In hindsight, I think the Hawks were due for a market correction against the Avs, considering how often they outplayed Colorado but Varlamov stole the games. I guess we'll have to wait next year for that.

I said this in another thread but I don't think Minnesota or Colorado were capable of providing a tougher challenge for the Hawks than the Blues did. As longas the Hawks prevent their play from slipping, they should be okay.

All I can say is that just about nothing gets my blood up more than the national anthem at that rink!

If you have any leftover thoughts from Game 2 you can bring them here. That IGT was going nowhere fast.

I'd read that they plan on him making the trip to Minnesota, so that's a good sign he'll be back real soon.

Hope he plays. He's my guy

With Shaw out get to see more Nordstrom, and possibly Morin if they scratch Bollig agian. Thought Morin played pretty well in game 2, and thought Nordstrom played damn good in the defensive zone, and did well in the offensive zone. Guy was everywhere, including getting some shots on net, think Nordstrom gets one in the back of the net in this next game.
