again 6th 7th D man that doesnt score or put up points. I just can't get excited about this. Sorry.

I'll jump for joy when they sign the two RFA's we have.
Are you sure he couldn't be put on wing for the 4th line next year? The Hawks have gotten rid of talent I wasn't expecting.

Uhhhh Regular Season and playoffs are different dude...

You have to protect your star players in the regular season for them to shine in the Playoffs. Goons are an integral part of the regular season as well as obsolete in the playoffs.
Integral? Tell that to the last 5 cup winners, they'll laugh at you. Goons are probably the LEAST integral part of the game. GOONS DO NOT PROTECT PLAYERS, sight me one instance last year where having an idiot goon on our team would have prevented the Toews hit, Campbell hit, runs at Kane........good luck.

BTW, we have a cup because we didn't waste money on goons, and because of that more talent...MORE DEPTH was allowed and thats why we won. Goons waste space, and money.

This is the dude that knocked Bois into next Tuesday during pre-season this year!

BTW Bois was a tough customer this year in the AHL!

He signed for 500k a year. That makes the signing make a lot more sense. If he can replace Eager/Burish on wing and play some D he's worth that price tag.

I be confident in saying ALL of our 4th line skaters would skate circles around Scott any day of the week.

I disagree, couldn't that 500k been enough to keep Ladd, maybe 750k more for Ladd. I am a big fan of talent, and seeing though there haven't been any reports of talent from you guys are what I looked up, I don't not like this signing one bit.

Over rated in the New NHL. And it's been proven. I don't remember a team we faced in the playoffs that had a goon or took a cheap shot at one of our stars..... Or tried to atone for a questionable hit we took.

Infact I don't remember a fight we were in during the ENTIRE PLAYOFF RUN!

If he can add in other ways, then great. If he can't this was a waste of 500k.

Eager was our "goon" he couldn't be that "goon" after his latest concussion installment. Then again why did Eager make 2x as much as Scott? Because he could skate and was a decent shooter.

So we have a stripped down Eager with no offensive talent but no one is going to **** with for half the price... seems pretty fair to me.

Hahah, really if you watched the playoffs goons are utterly fucking useless.

Grimson do you have some glimmer of hope making it in the NHL as a fighter?

In my initial post I addressed that:

Goons are not "necessary" but are role players to any team with stars.

Eager was NOT our goon and the REST of the NHL knew it. No one "shyed" away from Eager. It's common knowledge one more concussion could end his career. And again Eager can skate. Very well. Can Scott with his size?
