Like I said hopefully it's a two way contract.

as for the "shit if it is". It's most definitely "I'm not jumping for joy who the **** care's signing". Most definitely.

I'll gladly eat my crow if he plays oh, 45 games this year. If not it's a waste of 500k unless he goes to the minors and makes 65k once he gets there.[/quote]

The Hawks made over 45 million in ticket prices and parking from the SC playoffs. 500k in rockford is the least of their worries.

Where exactly did that tid bit come from? I didn't think the profitability of the season was anywhere near out and wouldn't be until some time later in the year.

Wasting money is wasting money. I'm not sure what point you are trying to prove here.

again excuse me if I don't jump for joy.

You're not the only one who has some inside sources my friend.

I'm just suggesting that 500K isn't anything compared to what Huet is going to be given in Rockford.

where the hell are you guys seeing he signed for $500K??? Everything i have seen has him signed for $1M. Goon, is not what is needed....large body that can skate and play a legit 10+ minutes a night on the 4th line (and has the ability to/willingness to drop gloves protecting our top 6) is what we need. He's 27, with 71 games played in the NHL.......am I the only one not impressed by this.

There is a long way to go before the puck is dropped for game 1 of the 10/11 season, but my "what the **** is Stan thinking" alarm is starting to warm up.

ANd whoever put the Scott/Koci fight in there should have known better than that....Koci's face has always been a very good fist catcher.

Give him sweater # 55.

I'm used to watching that number take needless penalties the past 2 seasons so it won't be a total shock to see him in the box and us on the penalty kill because asshats for fans think we need some WWE giant to stick up for someones manhood.

I can't do this all summer!!!

this signing gets a big meh from me. i would hope the hawks try to sign guys that can play at least decent hockey and not be some useless goon. at least he is somewhat cheap, considering what goons went for. would still prefered just a 1 year deal though, but i guess it would then cost 1m. eager could at least skate and score, this guys can't seem to do either.

I just asked him if he knew who John Scott was?

He said WHO?

I said the WWE giant on the Wild.

He said Oh yeah him.

I said we signed him today.

He said and I quote, "WHAT FOR?"

ENOUGH SAID!!!

#55 also took a lot of necessary penalties Maiden (you are too hard on the guy...good luck finding a better 4th liner).

Scott has zero hockey sense so I would guess that 100% of his penalties will come from being a fat slow clutch and grabber and that's when he is not getting issued fighting majors. Love the fact that we also lost a couple great PK guys too this offseason. Should be fun to see Scott take penalties that the Hawks may have a tougher time killing. Given Scott will probably only play 10 or so games this season. How thrilling.

Boring signing in my opinion also. Does nothing for me. Apparently all those players that were running our guys really had an impact on the team finding success the last couple years. Guess we needed a slow goon as to help us win the cup and protect our guys who were losing man games because they were being ran. (that was sarcasm for those who didn't catch it).

I think the guy is a badass fighter, but he wasn't a necessary signing as we have some guys in the 'rock' who can do the same thing he is going to do.

Let's see where he ends up during the season before we get carried away here.

How 'bout it TCD. You would think PK88 shrunk a foot when he got out of junior and never had to defend himself while playing in the OHL. This is just another example of the football mentality hockey fans that need rough and tumble players who cant play dick for hockey but make them feel good and tough. Laughable!!!!

Also, we don't know if this is a two-way contract. If it is then why are we so worried? He maybe around to play in Rockford and just keep an eye on our youngsters.

Maiden look at it this way, if he is sent to the AHL it doesn't hurt us, and if he plays 40+ games this upcoming season you have your new whipping boy!

The AHL is there for teams to send players to develop, not to turn it into Slapshot 2010.

I would prefer the Hawks sign the dead corpse of Bon Scott from ACDC for 500K than John Scott.
