Right and the articles two years ago were completely about Arlington Heights (now basically dead). This is headed towards no meaningful change for the Bears, same Soldier Field. I can’t wait to see them get denied for real and have to publicly admit it.

This is people in government talking how there's money available from the state for the Bears to take part in developing the land - this isn't Bears beat writers talking about AH or the SF renderings.

Big difference.

That’s literally not at all what’s saying. The state is willing to invest in transportation infrastructure around the Bears stadium, there is still zero willingness to actually give the McCaskey’s a single cent. But don’t take my word for it, JB Pritzker spokesman said today:

“Governor Pritzker’s position against public funding for a Bears stadium has not changed. The organization is welcome to explore other options.”

I don’t know when you fucking retards are going to get it through your thick Special person skulls. There will be no new stadium. The McCaskeys will stay losers and people from the suburbs will stay even bigger losers.

Its moreso common sense. You own AH... why deal with the city? AH caved and gave you the concessions you wanted -- but you are still working with the city?? If you had the money (particularly after the concessions) your focus would be 100% on building in AH.

Not everything needs to be spelled out. We can read between the lines my friend.

Moreover, and here is the kicker.... you cannot waste people's/the city's time, money and resources out of some elaborate power play to get a better deal with AH as some have theorized. Doing so will open you up to being sued out of the arse. There is a thing called "good faith" and other principles in law that prohibit that - "misrepresentation” and even “fraud” being others. These easily/quickly come to mind for me and this type of law was never my specialty. I am quite sure a lawyer that specializes in this area will be able to come up with other legal theories to get their butts sued as well. No, what they are doing with the city is real.

The only way I see a deal with AH working is if: a). the Bears sell, or b). they take on a partner to help carry the monetary load.
I said many months ago in one of these post regarding the stadium that this is what will eventually happen.

Idk what you’re going on about? Here’s a post of me agreeing with you. Anyways, enjoy your victory lap and self back pat.

At this point I’d say it’s anyone’s best guess where the location will be.

How will the Bears "stay losers" if they don't build a new stadium?

Presumably by losing out on the immense amount of revenue that a new stadium would provide them with.
What immense revenue, the Bears pay almost nothing to play at Soldier Field, they don't haave to maintain the facility,etc...Plus a new stadium would need to financed, the payments alone would be far more than they are paying now. Plus the Bears already are at the league max for salaries. In addition if stadiums were profit centers every NFL team would be building them, they are not. The Chiefs (current NFL champs) play in one of the league's oldest stadiums and they don't even own it.

I haven't followed the Arlington Heights saga closely- but the opportunity to have a closed/retractable roof opens up the facility for year round use- conventions, concerts, other sporting events. They could add a hotel on-site, parking garages, vendors, shopping, gambling, etc. They could build a Bears Hall of Fame to attract fans year round. The possibilities for revenue streams are limitless, really. Not sure why they are even messing with the city idea.

Because what you describe costs a **** ton more money and the McCaskeys arent real estate developers. What you describe makes sense for Stan Kroenke or Jerry Jones or Robert Kraft ie owners who are independently billionaires with decades of real estate experience.

Expecting the McCaskeys to manage a massive real estatement development like that when they have mismanaged a football team that has money coming in hand over fist is odd.

Like which of the McCaskeys would be given such a real estate project in real life if they had to earn the job based on real world accomplishments?

And please dont say they could just hire the people to do the job as they have failed miserably over decades at trying to hire the right people to run the team so presuming they have the skills to hire the rignt people for this is again odd.

Bears fans - McCaskeys are incompetent.

Bears fans - McCaskeys are suddenly competent enough to fund and decevelop a say 7 billion dollar Bears city in AH.

Yeah, the Chicago Park District could get the Grateful Dead to play at Soldier Field. The Bears would complain that marijuana would be sprouting in the turf, but the CPD still made money off of it. Maybe the Chicago Park District should run the Bears!

You are crazy.

I have no idea how to respond to any of this. I was making the point that a new stadium opens up a ton of new revenue streams for the Bears..whether or not they have the acumen to recognize them and take advantage- I've no idea.

Yeah, imagine if the Bears brought property in Arlington Heights to build their own stadium separate from CPD and have their own revenue streams!

A football stadium is a huge money pit. That is why most teams want the city to own them. You have to maintain them for 364 days a year and they are in use at best 30-40 days or so a year. So you are losing money for 324 days of the year.

There is a reason only 3 stadiums were not publicly funded and why all but a handful are owned by the state. NFL owners want the revenues while they saddle the state with costs.

So I already know that you struggle with things such as 'math' and 'finance', but are you saying that the biggest obstacle to NFL stadium construction is....MAINTENANCE COSTS??!!!

The rest of your posting is so banal that its not even worth responding to. You continue to be the worst CCS poster. Congrats.

The poster mentioned how thr stadium can be used for other events.

The point is for most NFL stadiums there arent a lot of other events outside of the home team. On average for an NFL stadium you are hosting 12.5 events for the whole year.

So this idea they bring in a ton of money outside of the home team is overstated. The problem with NFL stadiums are they are generally too big and costly to put on an event except for mega acts. A Taylor Swift or Beyonce may sell out an NFL stadium but most acts cant. Hence why NBA stadiums tend to be the preferred sports stadium for other events.

And again this is one of the reasons most teams dont own their stadium. They prefer the state incur the loss on maintaining the stadium for the whole year while the team collects the bulk of the revenues for the NFL games played there.

It may depend on how much funding and at what cost that funding is on where/how large they build.
