It may depend on how much funding and at what cost that funding is on where/how large they build.

Yea lets build in bronzeville to save money! Typical bears.

Remember almost getting stabbed one time parking there prior to a bears game, fun times.

Oh I agree... lol, but the current development at Bronzeville is stuck, up in the air, and the demo of the old buildings is already finished. The City may just gift the land since the current developer may go nowhere with it, not from a lack of trying. (Farpoint Dev and SpaceCo, in case anyone was wondering)

The poster mentioned how thr stadium can be used for other events.
So is your point that they CAN'T host other events? If not, then I'm not sure what you could possibly be arguing. And yes, it does indeed make 'economic sense' for the Bears if the taxpayers to pay for a $700M stadium instead of themselves. Thanks for pointing that out. Let me know when you return to reality.

Sell 10% of the team to an investment group with deep pockets and smart people. AH will be a gold mine.

A football stadium is a huge money pit. That is why most teams want the city to own them. You have to maintain them for 364 days a year and they are in use at best 30-40 days or so a year. So you are losing money for 324 days of the year.

There is a reason only 3 stadiums were not publicly funded and why all but a handful are owned by the state. NFL owners want the revenues while they saddle the state with costs.
Bringing facts, logic, and reason into the conversation will only muck things up...what were you thinking???

The point is most NFL stadiums dont make a lot of money from other events because most cant get a lot of other events.

Correct it makes more economic sense for the Bears over AH hence why they are looking into it. Some posters seemed confused as to why they dont just build in AH. Try to follow along.

It's little over a mile away.

The development is at S 2900, Soldier Field is right about S 1400. The Green Line is closer than the Roosevelt Red Line spot.

At a 6 billion valuation that is only 600 million and likely falls far short of the additional funding they need to make AH a reality.

The bears stadium in AH would absolutely get a bunch of concerts. Youre speaking out your ass as a person who probably never leaves the house.

They would also build a casino or sportsbook there(likely) which would bring in a lot of revenue.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears

Pat Ryan is worth over 12 billion himself so maybe he could make a power move to invest more in the stadium and reap more of the rewards

I don't even know to whom you are speaking anymore. Its too hard to follow along. I'm still stuck at the part where the Bears want to build a stadium, government doesn't want to pony up any tax dollars, and you say it will be better for the Bears economically to build the stadium with taxpayer dollars.

A stadium in AH would have to compete with the current Soldier Field as a venue along with the United Center, Allstate Arena, Wrigley and the NOW Arena.

It's not viable.

How many concerts does tinley park get? How many events does the allstate arena get?

Does dumbass remy think that a new top of the line stadium would not get concerts and events?

It is, because it would be indoors and top notch, not dated shitholes like all the ones you listed.

A football stadium is too big for all but the biggest acts.

The stadium that would be built at the proposed Arlington Park campus would be enclosed, but the heavy cost of a retractable roof would put that beyond the team’s reach, Bears President Ted Phillips said at a Thursday night meeting where the team’s leaders outlined possible plans for the park.

“What we’ve seen with the retractable domes is that the costs are prohibitive, that … the return isn’t there,” Phillips said. “There’s mechanical issues.”

LMFAO at Bears fans hating on Sweaty Teddy for decades yet believing he had a clue about developing a Bears campus. The Bears couldnt even afford a retractable roof per Philips but you think they have the money for a stadium, hotel, casino, and all the other development alleged?

Yes but dont think the McCaskeys want to sell the amount they would have to in order to make that happen.

You don't even need concerts....you just need a casino, a dispensary, and some Harlem Globetrotter games

That's one block short of 2 miles, plus a few blocks east. And I was talking about him parking in Bronzeville for a game at SF. The northern edge of Bronzeville is at 35th.
