I am tired of the "I saw Pippen play" talk. If you don't know shit about basketball...who cares what you saw?

That said, some of you are doing to the younger fans on this site what Kareem did to Pippen, insinuating that Jordan was NOT the best ever basketball player...

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s nasty open letter to Scottie Pippen - Ball Don't Lie - NBA

To me, Kareem looked foolish. Just like the idiots who claim Pippen was as good a player as Lebron. What is really sad is Kareem is very, very intelligent. While the brow beaters with the "you never saw Scottie play live and if you did you would have felt the energy through the television" bullshit are...well...not very intelligent.

To the younger crowd...screw those people's opinions. If they can call you out for being young and naive, you can call them out for being old and stupid. Learn the game so that you can teach those behind you what to look at, how to analyze, why Pippen was a great player, why he was better than other players...etc. Don't respond to idiots, be better than them, and me, who can't help but respond to idiots. Just learn the game as you go...

Being 2nd man to Michael Jordan is something I think every basketball player besides Michael himself would like. It's not a diss or hating to call Pippen that.

Trust me, I have done the right thing explaining why Pippen was so great over and over again, the nice way....And I know a lot about backetball...I played basketball in grade school and highschool....plus my father coached highschool baskettball for 33 years...I fucking know the game and payed very close attention to the 90s bulls as if I was studying for a test.......So DON'T GIVE ME THIS TOUGH guy TALK CRAP....straight up....when I see somthing wrong being posted here, your guddaym right I'm gonna speak out and correct what is wrong, so people that come on this site just to read are not misinformed....I don't give a shit if you like it or not.....I'm doing my duty as a productive citizen of this forum...Have a nice day and Go BULLS!!!!!!! :bigfinger:

P.S, that was a very good article Hue...Thanks for posting it...

this thread had good conversation..but has recently deteriorated

I think all that can be said has been said. From reading some of the posts I think its just a miscommunication.

Pippen was a franchise player but he was not the franchise player for the bulls. Jordan was.

you're probably right...and thats why the conversation became centered on pippen(once again)

my stance is that pippen was not the franchise player of the bulls..but with the career he had..if he had left sometime in the early 90s he could have very well been the face of a franchise

now if he had never played with the bulls....in other words was drafted and kept by the sonics or someone else..then its hard to say that he would have been the same player(i think people dont realize how instrumental jordan was in pippen's development)...

I can agree with the part about how Jordan was vital in his development..Indeed..
Facing Jordan in practice everyday would definately make a player tougher..In a way, competing against the greatest competitor ever (jordan) on a daily basis made Pippen a better defender for sure.....The point is, a lot of players would have been unable or unwilling to keep up with Jordan or suffered from a broken heart every day...But not Pippen, he was up to the challenge and did as good a job playing next to jordan and away from jordan as anyone could have, and don't forget Pippen was humble enough to take a backseat for Jordan because to Pippen, it was all about sacrifice and winning......That is why he is great.....A lot of players would of been jealous of Jordan and went to another team for self praise..Or even costs the Bulls games trying to outdo Jordan and take points away from jordan...Instead Pippen fed Jordan and the rest of his teammates to make the team flow as a team to WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS...He filled in all the holes and roamed the floor like a maniac always knowing what was going on around him, while acting on impulse of what needed to be done to win games....Credit must be given where credit is do.....Plus Scottie faced up against the toughest players in the league and shut them down....On another team, pippen would have been a franchise player...Noone was better than Jordan and Noone can be "the" franchise player next to him, but could be the "other" franchise player....What makes a franchis player a franchise player, is his importance to the team and flow of the game night to night...That is what pippen did, so he is "a" franchise player..Pippen was Pippen and did not ride coat tails...He existed on his own terms....A winner

Must I mention that Scottie Pippen lead all forwards in all nba team voting from 93 to 96?

I just finished watching game 6 1994 bulls vs knicks seminals..half way throuugh the first quarter, the results for All NBA voting was announced and displayed at the bottom of the screen.
1994 ALL-NBA 1st TEAM media votes:
Scottie Pippen. 94
Hakeem Olajuwon. 68
Karl Malone. 65
John Stockton. 56
Latrell Sprewell. 29

As far as that voting went, Pippen was regarded as the best player in the game by sports media anounced during game.....That too was verbally announced on numerous broadcasts of Bulls games from that point, and throughout the 95 season all the way into a few nationally televised games in 1996...."best all around player in the game today" was said by numerous broadcasters, coaches, former players, teamates, opposing players and writers during that 3 year period..So how is Scottie Pippen called the best all around playr in the game if he is not a franchise player?

If any #2 guy is to ever be an exception, when being called a frachise player, it is Scottie.
For he is the most celebrated #2 guy in history...Not to mention how he became #1 guy for 1 and 3 quarters of a season without asking to be, and unexpectedly upon Jordans sudden baseball fetish retirement announcement..Not only did Pippen not have enough time at being the franchise player, he certainly didn't have enough time to prepare to all of a sudden have that burden on his shoulders...He just like the rest of the Bulls was used to having Jordan backing him up.. So for him to make that transition from #2 to #1 in such short notice, is more than 90% of franchise players ever had to do..And he was sucessful at it too....And even more, how he carried himself to readjust to being #2 again when Jordan returned..And he did it with pride.....

Really? I didn't know they had bloggers in 1994. What blogger? Who? What? Where? When?

So I guess you're just full of crap.
:obama:

Moving On–The tale of Scottie Pippen’s 1994 Chicago Bulls

Jesus Christ.

I never said the blog was written in 1994. I said the worst prediction I saw was was in a blog.

Try again.

Here you are First Timer.
Below I linked an article to the Chicago Tribune from Nov.51993.
It is one of many articles from experts counting the Bulls out withoout Jordan.
In the article below, the guy basically sating the only thing to look forward to that season would be a Will Perdue stepping on Mugsy...He says that the Bulls will get blown out by Knicks and Pacers...LoL.
He even says The Bulls may be too painful to watch....LMAO, I remember reading this in Study Hall my Senior Year in highschool....I also remember all the Bulls related debates with classmates and teammembers. Most counted the Bulls out but of course I had the last laugh by allstar break...I'm one of the few that looked at the bright side and new they would be one of the better teams..I was actually glad my favorite player at the time (Pippen) woould be able to prove his worth.....Read Link Below....very funny but serious article..

Jordan And Time Won't Fly Anymore - Chicago Tribune

You owe me one Deng Defense Force.....

Uhh..nowhere in that article does it say the Bulls will win less than 20 games.

Try again.

Wow, it took you a whole 24 hours to respond.
You must of dug deep to find some sort of way to insult me.
Go crawl back in the hole you crawled out of and die.
Read the article again asshole :smug2:
It say the Bulls will be unwatchable you idiot!!
To be unwatchable means pretty fucking bad.

This 3 month argument was finally close to a conclusion and the community was at peace about the subject.
Your dumbazz just had to start it up again.
Good Job, congratulations. Now GTF outta here clown.
The more you post the more tarded you look.

How was the chilli?

Free.

One sample nearly incapacitated me it was so spicy. But the Sugar Ray's Chili was phenomenal and I believe won 1st place. One guy in our group had over 50 different kinds.

Well I believe you now. At first when you said you were out of town I was sceptical but now that you made your story more specific and said the word "chili" how can it not be true. Thanks, no more proof needed.
