I was 11 in 85. I remember him vividly during the back to back years which put me at 13 and 14.

Who the hell are you to put someone down for their age, your only argument about every player sans Pippen is they are overrated. You crap on what Magic can do by saying Pippen could have stepped in and did what he did...Pippen has NEVER been able to play on Magic's level...to make that statement is tragic. You have gone from Pippen was robbed of a DPOY award...to Pippen could have been a 3 time MVP in the 1980's? Give me a damn break.
I never said pippen could've won 3 mvps or lead a team to multiple championships. I've always maintained that he could've led a team to 1 championship. I maintain pippen even after Jordans retirement was a top 3-5 player and if given the best talent in the league would've done much better based on what he did with little to no talent.

find me one legit NBA fan (you ain't one) who would take Pippen as a better player than Kobe Bryant...one fan with any...ANY sanity. Find me one fan who thinks Pippen should even be mentioned in the same paragraph with Magic Johnson.

rami made the implication when I asked him if the bulls could win a championship without replacing pippen and he said yes. Even multiple. And kobe didn't just have gasol. He had odom and bynum as well as fisher. And if all pippen has to do is shoot 41%, yes I feel with those players, he could won a few championships. And I feel worthy is overrated too.

And you continue to point to Kobe's FG%...look at the two player's true shooting percentages. Kobe's is better...why? Because he was a better long range shooter, and a much better free throw shooter. We don't even have to get technical. I don't have to talk about Kobe's superior ability to create off the dribble and his volume shooting being a necessity. Pippen, comparable to players at his position, was a horrendous free throw shooter. The best at that position routinely shot 80% from the line...Pippen spent a lot of his career shooting like a center from the free throw line. Kobe is an 11-time all defensive player...so he is proven to be a great defender, but he is a much better offensive player than Pippen was. Scoring 50 points wasn't Pippen's game...because Pippen couldn't score 50 points. Stop the madness...

True shooting drasticlly overrates 3 pt shooting. Beseides....... thers no stat that can really put into perspective kobes penchant for taking 2 or 3 bad shots a game.

Anytime you demand double teams, you make your teammates better to a certain degree. It wasn't until the Lakers' stars left that Kobe started to play unselfishly. But you need to understand that the 2000-2004 Lakers were designed to allow Kobe to play selfishly down the stretch. He was their entire perimeter offense and transition game.

False. The guy had to take a backseat to Kwame Brown. He was still incredibly raw.

Odom at that stage was better than kukoc, who still was adjusting to the nba game.

Kukoc was not still adjusting to the NBA game as much as you'd make it seem. The guy already spent a year in the league and was a force to be reckoned with. I will say Odom did have a defensive and rebounding advantage but was a much better shooter than Lamar. The difference is negligible.

Parker and Myers are about even.

False. Pete Myers was a very solid player while Smush was absolutely terrible on defense and couldn't make a play on offense.

Kwame brown was a solid defender.

Longely was a better defender, better offensive player, and better rebounder, and played more intelligently. Brown was absolutely horrible and a complete example of why it takes more than pure athleticism to be an NBA player. He makes Tyrus Thomas look like LeBron James.

Even if you say the talent was relatively equal, pippen still did a better job than kobe in similar situations.

Pippen could not have possibly done a better job than Kobe on that Lakers' team.

So, they weren't champions or even western conference champs.

The Suns had a lot of talent and weren't prone to mistakes like that young Laker team was. Kobe absolutely was the reason they weren't a lottery team.

And how was he raw? Wasn't he around 26 when the nba made those rule chages? Come on. And while its true brryant was the best player on the lakers, its also true that the lakers won with their rebounding and size. Which greatly negated kobe inefficient shooting.

The 1996-1998 Bulls won because of rebounding and size too, to a certain degree. No team can win a championship without a good system in place around them. I don't care if that player is Michael Jordan. Without a solid team, he would never have won a championship. What you fail to consider is that Jordan had a great team around him that would have been very good even without Pippen at all. After 2005, Kobe took it upon himself to develop one of the best post games in the league and became less turnover prone and used his passing ability more often.

Kobe took a lot of hard shots and still averaged over 45% and took nearly 10 FT per-game. That is no less than incredible. Pippen could not make the same shots Bryant could anywhere close to consistently.

You've already said that Kobe>Pippen. Why go on?

Pippen is master of defense, offense creator for his partners (assist, pick'n'roll or scream), director on the floor, athletic, fast

Magic is great assist-man, less finisher and normal defender. director on the floor for his team

Go back and look at what was written about me when I posted that Scottie Pippen didn't start on the Dream Team and posted evidence...go back and look a few pages. And see how I was attacked, when all I did was point out an inconsistency which was used to support an asinine argument that if you start on the Dream Team you are a top 5 player in basketball. I didn't call anybody out, I just posted what was a fact...and I was attacked.

From a basketball standpoint I feel worthy is overrated. Was he good? Yes. But not better than pippen. I wouldn't even call him the better scorer. He was lightning quick and benifitted greatly frrom playing in that fastbreak era. Which gretaly inflated his FG% due to multiple easy layups.

From 88 on, worthy was the lakers 1st option, his highest ppg out put was 21. As a first option, in a high octane team, in a league that stressed offense.
