Hey! Trev and I resemble that remark!

I can't speak for anyone else, but I know I was at least playing defense (I was chirped by a friend for not jumping into the offensive zone more).

Did anyone at the District actually take food tickets? Nobody took mine or anyone elses I was with. Still, the waitstaff was very professional and did a great job with the amount of people who were there.

The game was a blast like always.

I didn't see it posted, or maybe I missed it; what was the total raised for the event?

They did at the start and gave wrist bands but I think they were overwhelmed pretty quickly. A learning experience for them as well.

Everyone showing up near the same time I think caught them off guard as well.

Oh, I am just letting it go. Maybe for the winter. I may trim up a bit, but the goatee for sure is gonna keep going.

Unless a job pops up that needs a fresh shave. And it better pay well.

I am letting mine go too, for the first time. I was just doing my cheeks and the lowest part of my neck, but I am about to let the neck go now. I have never had it this full and I really want to see where it will grow from here.

I was trying to except for one or two plays at the end. I pinched a few times unneccesarily, but i knew you had my back.

Cmon boys.. if there's one thing you need to learn about me, I never blame the defense. I could have, and will play better next time.

I'm disappointed I let Pez score on me, but to his credit that was probably the fastest shot I saw all game. Next year I'll put in more practice time before the game... this year the only ice I saw in the last month and a half (before Skate) was with Pez in a mens league game. Guess I misjudged the workload a tad... haha. Either way, I will show up next year in game shape.

Next year....make sure you guys get a better scoreboard person for the charity event. First the score was wrong....then the period was wrong....then the time wasn't moving.

Who was the guy reffing the game? Someone you guys knew? Man was he in a shitty mood. The team I was on kept trying to shoot the shit with him and he just kept getting bitchy with us. He also couldn't wait to get the hell out of there. Maybe next year we should hire a couple of refs who can commit and don't have to leave early?

which one are you referring to? One was the guy who runs the BMO, and he was pretty good during the first game. The other guy was a last minute fill in.

From my end, I would assume it was the guy that wasn't dressed in ref gear. I thought the other guy was fine. Then again, I barely talked to either of them. I rarely talk to refs to begin with unless they talk to me first, neither of them really started the conversation so I just kept to myself.

Actually we initially committed to 75 eating and the number grew in the week leading up to the event. They were aware of that but the number of 150 caught them a little off guard at the last moment. They were also expecting people to show up on a flowing basis but instead it was a huge number all at once. They get it now and as Ron stated we all learn. I did hear that people enjoyed the location, food and atmosphere itself. The owners and management said we had a great group that tipped well to the staff and that they would love to have us back again next year. Thoughts from others on District?

Aside from the issues due to the number of people there, I thought District was awesome. Food, beer, and service was all great.

I wish I could still grow one. Damn professional work environment.

They let it slide during the playoffs, but even still, there are remarks.

Your beard looks nice. Your facial hair looked good too. HIYO!!!!!!

I probably should even everything up. My goat is long as hell, my side burns are hella scruffy, and I haven't shaved the other part for a month or two.

That explains why he was mad that I took off my helmet for the fight. I am sure he was worried I was gonna break the ice with my nugget.

He did both games and was dead during the second. He was already sore during the end of the first game. Gotta cut him some slack he said he hadn't skated in a year and did both games LOL!

For those that are not aware the ref for both games was Gordon Kaye, Executive Director of the BMO Harris Bank Center.

Yep, that's right, the big cheese offered to ref both of our games for us. I asked him because he did the Blackhawks Alumni game here last season. What others may not be aware of is that he skated out there with an injury. I know he was hurting the second game and I even had another replacement lined up for him and he refused to leave the ice. He said he committed to doing both and wanted to follow thru on that.
