The standings show both the Hawks and Nashville tied for first with 13 points, I don't really know what you're looking at.

We have played at least two more games than everyone in the division... meaning an opportunity at at least 4 more points than everyone else. Point percentage shows how everyone is playing based on the amount of points won against the amount of points available to a team... on a level playing field we are dead last in the division.

I hate explaining simple shit to new hockey fans. :slap:

Hawks have played more games. So their "point" total is a bit boosted.

Welcome, Tom. Could I ask a favor? Please stop centering your posts. Or, if it's by accident, click on the left align left button. :D

But I like centering my posts. Oh well. ^_^

First off I'm not new to the sport of hockey, or at least not new new. I go back to 1992. Been watching long enough. Secondly okay now I see what you mean. Didn't take into account the fact that the Hawks have had a murderous start to the season as far as scheduling goes. I still don't see what the "concern" is.

You've been following hockey for 18 years and this is the first you're hearing of point percentage standings? :smh:

I wasn't aware of the term either - but it sounds like another way to explain games in hand. I think the games in hand idea maybe doesn't imply that the other teams are automatically going to win the games that they haven't played yet, whereas the point percentage analysis and applying it to a standing sort of seems to be doing.

Or- well, in thinking about it - maybe it doesn't- but it presumes winning at a constant percentage, which doesn't happen.

Games in hand, doesn't say anything other than you have to take those extra games in to account - and things could be uglier if all teams had played a like amount of games.

Hossa says he's "half way there"

I would expect him back this weekend, early next week

With Campbell back helping shore up our defense, now with Morin and Hossa about to see action we could get this team back on track. Hossa was the best player in the NHL (along with Stamkos) when he went down, we need him back asap.
