A source in the know tells me #88 suffered an ankle injury on Sunday night. Same exact injury that slowed him down around the winter classic and sidelined Crosby for 30 games. A tad scary, but let's hope we see Kane back a lot sooner than 30 games from now.

I merged the threads, you may be 100% right, but I cannot post a entire thread without a real source in publication. If your source is right, 30 games isnt a good thing at all and this team is in real trouble.

Coach Quenneville stated today after practice that the team expected Marian Hossa back on the ice this weekend. After his conditioning is back we could be looking at him returning as soon as the 15th when we face the Avalanche. That would mean only three more games without Hossa.

I felt like some good news was needed around here after it was announced Kaner is in fact down for at least three weeks.

I can say with 100% certainty that Kane's injury is the same one he had in 08, but on the other ankle. High ankle sprain. And no hard feelings over the merge. Why don't you make it up to me by banning JoeHawks?

This is an iffy injury; he could be good to go in 3 weeks...or he could be sidelined a month. Or even worse, he could come back and really struggle. Anyone remember the end of 08-09? Not nearly the same hockey player. Besides Game 6 vs. Vancouver when adrenaline completely took over, he looked much more timid than he did before the injury and during 09-10 once it finally healed.

I hate to say it, but regardless of how long Kane is out, the long term lingering affects this injury has can really derail our repeat chances.
