Hossa, who missed five games earlier this season with an upper body injury, had to be helped off the ice after the collision on Monday. The Blackhawks recalled forward Jeremy Morinfrom Rockford on Tuesday to take his place on the roster.
"Things happen like that," Hossa said Tuesday of the collision. "It can happen away from the game too, so it's all part of it. You deal with. It's an opportunity for Morin to come up and hopefully he can take advantage of the chance and the challenge. We'll just go from there."
Morin, 19, made his NHL debut on Nov. 6 against the Atlanta Thrashers. He leads Rockford with six goals.
Corey Crawford will start his third straight game in goal on Tuesday against the St. Louis BluesSt. Louis Blues, the first of four straight games and nine of 11 at the United Center.
