Yeah it is actually a bit surprising to see you say that.... most folks in your generation shrug off the college costs of the modern day and mutter something about bootstraps but the debt most college educations incur is terrible.

I am envious of people I know whose parents ate the cost of their college education.
Nope, it is harder now and I feel sad for you assholes

In my day there were 2 jobs for everyone that wanted one. You moved freely and each new job paid more. People actually got regular raises. Stuff was cheap. Companies actually provided you with pensions (I'm still working and yet I'm getting 2 pensions right now) and companies paid ALL your healthcare costs

You ******* have it hard. Compound that with the fact you'all lazy as shit, I wish you luck living in your parents basement in the future

I'm paranoid and am pretty frugal. Trying to leave enough for my wife and daughter so they are set. I'm not one of these "i'm spending my kid's inheritance" types

I have never been one of these people that said growing up in my time was harder than it is now

Truth is I feel it is so much harder now than in the 60s and 70s'. Back then there was a job for everyone that wanted a job. I paid every dime of my education cause I had part time work that paid $10/hr in the early 70s. Zero student debt. Paid off my mortgage 20 years ago on a 5000 sqft house. Paid every dime of my daughters high school and college education and a $30k wedding

Point is that I'm not sure that people can do that now. I feel bad for some of you nitwits. But not all of you

nevermind, I'm surely included in the last line. My fault. Bridge burn.

funny shit is if I had even $6,500 in opportunity I could probably make a million in a year. But when you are at the bottom everything is mentally taxing, every burden is greater, and unfortunately beyond the mental and physical toll you are vulnerable to every normal life mishap. A medical issue sinks you. Any criminal charge sinks you, even being in the wrong place at the wrong time. You can't even afford a fair trial. I can't believe I didn't qualify for a public defender. They said I make $73 too much a month but hiring a lawyer is completely out of the question. I will not receive representation or a fair trial.

I have a friend who went to school and got a masters degree and now can't find a job anywhere. She's 3 years out of school with nothing to show for it. She's had to settle for being a substitute teacher.

What is her masters degree in? Not all are the same and some who get them are Special person for getting them. In the right field, Masters degree is a must to separate you from the field. Make no mistake. A college degree is becoming just like a HS diploma. Most have them and they need something else to separate from the pack. Now, spending a 100 thousand dollars on student loans to get a Masters in English is dumb. You will be in debt for so long and never make the money to reciprocate.

It was in Health Communications :)

Health Communications? WTH is that? Google Google Google...........Ahhhhhhhh.........Public relations for Healthcare. Kind of narrows your opportunities. My son got his BA and now Masters in Mathematics and companies were beating down his door and the goofball still became a teacher.
