I'll add a couple things to that list. Kevin Warren has a prior relationship with Lions assistant GM Agnew.

Media over the past few weeks have already been greasing the wheels for Poles's exit.

I’ve heard Ray Agnew being talked about being in the next GM hiring cycle. I done know much about him.

He and Johnson on the same timeline in Chicago is enticing if Poles gets booted and if he is indeed competent.

I would say he’s probably safe. If the Bears finish on this loss streak and don’t get any good stadium news he’s going to be feeling some heat.

So does that mean the fucknut who is useless(Warren) also gets some heat?

If they’re that sold on Johnson, it wouldn’t surprise me if they brought in Agnew to replace Poles. I can’t see how they have a lot of faith in poles rn.

Only the bears would let an OC of 2.5 years pick his own GM.

Cant wait till it fails and we say it was an inside job
Warren would be the one doing the picking. If Agnew has an eye for talent and roster construction and Johnson is an excellent offensive mind, what would be your objection to wiping the slate clean and hiring both of them?

I don't think this has anything to do with caleb, he's completely failed to build a competitive team since he's been here. Most of his picks aren't big difference makers, when you can't draft great players and have to rely on trading and giving up picks you don't deserve the job I would hope bears fans have turned on him rather than accepting more bs. He has absolutely did nothing to make our line better which was was our biggest issue when he arrived.
What do you mean? All of this was so adequate last season. The OL was good enough and they improved at C. You should expect growth out of your three starters on rookie contracts when you combine that with a new QB who "knows how to get rid of the ball and read defenses". WR 2 and 3 improved. Lots of pieces on D were so good! Everyone that fans love just all of a sudden suck and arent good enough? Thats odd!

I was a fan of Poles early on, but the results have been disastrous. If it requires him to go in regards to hiring Ben Johnson or another top candidate, you can't pass up the #1 coaching option to stick with Poles.

does anyone truly believe that George will pony up the reported 15m/year for Johnson after a continued history of paying for first timer HC salaries?

To get the best candidate, he might. Got to change the narrative somehow.

If I’m Ben Johnson, I’m beyond unimpressed with the Bears D that Poles has invested so much money in.

I was a big Poles fan up until middle of this year. I still think he has made some nice changes to the roster, but the lack of depth on the OL/DL is now very glaring, and it's losing us lots of games. The power structure from ownership down seems to be growing more dysfunctional by the day, and I don't know that with McCaskey/Warren running things that firing Poles is going to make that much of a difference. Johnson seems like a brilliant offensive mind, but so were Nagy/Trestman. Neither were leaders of men, and both came crashing down quickly. Is Johnson and whichever GM he works with different? IDK, but if they are not, then things will just continue on the same path, and we will waste the best QB talent we have ever had.

Last year the same problems existed. Anyone who believed anything was adequate last year is lying or full of crap.
