Hmmm if brees was damn good his first few year then why in the hell did the chargers draft a Qb #1? Alex Smith is the perfect example of what a coach can do for a QB!! One minute he is in the same discussion as ryan leaf and then he is a special teams fumble away from a super bowl appearance

The defense can't carry this team to any sort of success. It hasn't since 2006 actually. Much like last year...if Cutler stays healthy and plays well...the team will do well. Much like 2010.
They weren't as good as they were then but still plenty good and I felt with some help from special teams it could be deja vu all over again. But special teams went south, the coaching was shit, and it just didn't happen much to my chagrin.

No they weren't. The only spot where you could argue that they were better is RDE...otherwise they were far superior in 2005. And it's not even close

The point was if a QB had it, he'd show it within his first 4 years and he did that.

I already said Smith was coached up to be a better game manager. They still gave a lot of thought to Peyton, even in his weakened state.

You know i'd like to thank Angelo for two reasons

!)Thank you for bringing Cutler here

2) Thank you for equiping cutler with the worst OL and WR core in the league for the past three years he was here. Because of you Angelo,Cutler had no choice but to learn the strengths and weakneses of his game and the "offense" around him games. Your incompetence made Cutler play with limited resources and forced him to be way better than he should have to be. Angelo, you sent cutler into a gun fight with a knife and not a sharp one but a butter knife that has been used to death and yet the guy still has a wiinning record here, so here's to you J.A!

All Cutler has to do is play like he did last year and im happy. The most important thing he needs to do is keep those red zone turnovers low. 3 points is better than 0, and I think he improved vastly in that aspect from the interception machine he was when he got here.

This preseason though has left me scratching my head. Jay has never by any means a sniper passer but his accuracy has looked like shit lately.

**** passer ratings. I just want smart football out of the guy.

Point is they showed they had it within the first 4 years. Yeah, Brady went sick with Moss and then his TE dynamic duo and Rodgers was unbelievable last year, but they both showed they were top QBs long before that.

Rodgers played one season in his first 4 years, and Cutler has most certainly shown that he has it in his first 4.

His accuracy will be there this year. He didn't have the highest completion percentage last game because it was his second pre season game. He will probably play a bit tomorrow just to get the reps he lost in. I plan on seeing a completion percentage of 61.5 to 62% this year. With his deep throw capability that is a great number to hit

I agree with you but I think you're giving JA a little too much credit. He sent Cutler into a gun fight with a paper clip

Jay has improved, no doubt. I'd however be lying if I'd say I don't expect a significant improvement this year.

I'm hoping to see 4k yards and somewhere near 30 TDs.

He was putting it together just fine last year until he got hurt...and that was w/ crappy WRs for the most part. Do you guys actually watch the games? Or just read a Moon article and get yourself all worked up? I think he wrote the "no more excuses" piece about 3-4 times this offseason, in several different forms.

I have a feeling that Cutler will put up around 3500 yards, 25 TDs and 15 picks.....he'll have the opportunity to manage the games because our run game will lead the way. I won't mind those stats as long as the INTs aren't in the red zone.

With his play last year, a playoff run and his probowl year, never is already off the table.

The only thing I get from that article is that tony Romo is the best QB in NFL history. 110.8 in the best year of his 1st 4 years and 110.8 ever since.

When someone uses such firm absolutes, you can be sure they will be wrong.
