Four years, eh? Wow...you must have really thought John Elway was a pile of crap then. Elway didn't have a year where he even sniffed a rating above 90 until he was 33 years old in 1993...as a matter of fact, he had only one year where his rating was above 80 up until that point. Football fans who speak in absolutes never cease to amaze me. Let me say this once: each individual player can only be judged on his own merits going forward. There is no set standard or ratio for age-success.
If you want to say you would like to upgrade from Cutler? That is fair. But I, personally, will cherish the best quarterback the Bears have had since the '50's even if he is just "good" or "above average." However, if Cutler has a bad game, or a bad streak, I will chastise him for it just like I would any other player. The way some fans refuse to give credit to certain players because they "never liked them" or refuse to criticize a player because they have always had a love affair with said player is insane.
