HEY! WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM WITH MADDEN FOOTBALL?!
Nothing...especially this year, game is the shit. Flyovers? Draft analysis? Wet dream. But if you want to extrapolate Madden-style analysis (i.e. these two guys have 79 ratings so they play the same and have the same value) to real-world football then you may want to stick to the world of video-gaming when it comes to analyzing football

Agreed. He had one decent game against Green Bay in 2010, but has been very unsuccessful against them overall. To the naked eye, without putting any research into it, it seems like Cutler struggled somewhat against the 3-4 defense for his first two years here, and really seemed to improve last year. Will be interesting to see what he does against GB this year with a vastly improved receiving corps, and a Packers secondary that really doesn't strike fear into anyone.

I think he can do better against them this year because he has two receivers who can beat the press, and because he'll be operating out of the shotgun much more often. Quick passes into the flat to Marshall or Jeffery should help slow down that pass rush. Another thing, everyone talks about redzone INTs but I want to see some redzone TDs. Walking away with three points after a defensive turnover or ST play won't cut it anymore. We can really put some teams away if we can just become a more efficient offense. Cutler took steps in that regard last year but I felt he sacrificed some of his play-making. We need a happy medium of gunslinger Jay, and game manager Jay.

Jay Cutler has improved. His numbers may not look a whole lot better, but again, last 30 games = 21-9. How many of those games do we win without Cutler? A single digit number, that's for sure.

I think he's tougher, smarter, and a better leader. He's made do with ONE other playmaker around him, an offensive line that consists of 4 folding chairs and Roberto Garza, and a WR corps full of punt returners and special teamers. With how shitty of an offense he's had around him, how many different offensive systems he's had, and having to deal with Mad Martz's shit system that only excels at getting the QB killed, you'd think Cutler would have regressed. I think most of the QBs in the league would have regressed. Cutler got better.

Now that we're putting some more talent out on the field, we reunite Cutler with Marshall and Bates, and the Tice and Bates duo play to Cutler's strengths, we're going to see an offense like we haven't seen in a long time. There might be some growing pains, but I think by the end of the year, our offense and Cutler are going to be talked about as being top 5 in the league.

And I know that people will call me a homer, but it's fine. If it doesn't pan out, I'll be here to take my lumps. But I also don't expect us to jump out of the gate averaging 40 points a game. Over the course of the season, I expect this offense to just keep getting better and better. And if Alshon Jeffery plays well, and starts to become a force, defenses are doomed. :D

I'm just excited to see what happens this season. Here's hoping for a successful healthy season where we'll be singing our fight song so much that we go hoarse.

Well idk if Cutler is ever going to be this monster fantasy QB like he was in Denver. I get that he has weapons, but we get off the bus running, so he won't always have to throw 50 times a game. Maybe I'm wrong but that's my opinion. Doesn't mean he's not a great QB. He shows up in big games for the most part, remember @Philly last year? Even @Detroit he played at an extremely high level. He broke some obscure record held by Otto Graham in his first playoff game, so the guy knows how to step it up. The only thing is that he needs to keep stepping it up in those big games. This is the year, hopefully, that he is able to perform big in big moments all the time.

I think Jay will actually get better this year... and his stats will be most explosive next year...

Marshall is demanding double teams all year... and Alshon Jeffery might change that next year... The more experience these two have on the field with Jay Cutler the better the offence is going to be... I cant put it all on this year... This offence has a 5 year shelf life to win us a Superbowl... And when we finally Draft or pick up a FA LT that can get the job done its going to make a world of difference in the passing game...

Jay did well for having what was considered one of the worst recieving squad in football last year...

Some of these WRs are just entering there prime... And Jay just entered his too... give it some time to develop... Its not even the regular season yet...

Exactly why we have to go all in now and trade picks for a stud LT. We will never get it fixed with picks in the upper 20's. LT is really the only glaring hole in our offense. Guards are replaceable and Carimi will be with us for a while on a low salary. The only other FA we might need is a stud DT or DE (if Shea is a bust).

So without Cutler, the last 30 games woud have been 9-21 at best, even though we were 9-7 with Orton with basically the same team. Orton and Grossman had winning percentages with the Bears probably as good or better than Cutler has.

Yeah Orton and Grossman were so great that's why they are backups in the NFL. Cutler has improved every year and Orton and Grossman have gotten worse.

Hanie sure helped us!!!

The Bears would be a 2-14 without Cutler, No pass rush, weak oline, and weak Secondary.

Which of these areas were seven games better in 2008 than they have been since Cutler arrived?

Pass rush? We didn't have Peppers in 08.

Oline? You think the OL was so superior in 2008 than it is now that it would directly caused a seven game difference (2-14 compared t othe 9-7 that actually happened)?

Your're insane. You and WOLE are not Bears fans, you're just Cutler fanboys.

Weak.

All I can say is watching a Kyle Orton lead offense and drinking beer was like getting hit by a tranquilizer gun. I haven't watched anything more boring in my lifetime really.

I love watching a Jay Cutler lead offense, pretty exciting. Cutler can make throws and move around in the pocket in ways that Kyle Orton can only dream about.

Also, this statement is so generalized:

"If Cutler doesn't put it together this year, its never going to happen"

I mean, what the hell is "it"?

Personally, I could really give a shit if Cutler is ever a top 5 QB. All I really care about is whether he leads an offense that contributes to a contending team.

This is kind of where I'm coming from. There seems an implied "or else" in it. Or else what? Cutler is easily the best QB on the Bears since Jimmy Mac. Are we going to dump him because he isn't putting up 100+ QBR seasons and isn't as good as Brady or Rodgers? I'm sure with this team's great luck at drafting QBs I'm sure we'll find a pro bowl QB just waiting for us out there.

I agree. Cutler is better as well as more exciting than Orton. No doubt.

But that wasn't the point, or the question. I was responding to Digits' assertion that the Bears would have won 9 or less of their previous 31 games without Cutler, and Panda's assertion that they would be 2-14 without him.
