Thibs was right. He didn't play these guys because they sucked. Gar/Pax built a team that he couldn't work with, and then he got the blame for overplaying the guys that actually earned their roles. Sorry, but that is what happened. Also, Thibs would love Portis, and he would actually get minutes over half-court chucking Niko and YMCA king McDermott. Hoiberg is a miserable mistake of a coach. Has no control over these guys and he doesn't hold his own players accountable when they do their own thing.

Honestly I'd more so gather there's just personnel on this team that do not fit on the team.

And a big part of that is Derrick Rose no longer fits on this team.

I don't pay attention to him. But if he is making the same exact point that I am making, and considering the same uphill battle Thibs faced, then yep. But that doesn't mean I inherit his belief that Carmelo is a SG.

I still am under the belief Thibs had to go. All regular season, not much playoff mojo, even when his teams were healthy. I saw it in 2010-11 from the team.

Whether or not Hoiberg was the answer is still under review for myself. I do know this team needs to be blown up in some sense. And if it cannot be because GarPax are unable to make a trade that isn't salary cap relief, then its time for them to go.

But Niko chucking from half court and McDermott doing nothing are because Rose is bad? Even worse, those guys making stupid mistakes and not being pulled for it? Rose is one problem, but the great white additions over the years have made everything worse. Pau gets his stats and he's done. He made some stupid fake and spin move, missed the shot, then spent 3 seconds pounding his fists in the air over how close his missed shot was... INSTEAD OF RUNNING BACK. I mean, seriously.... that speaks volumes about his team ethic.

Just to be clear, I am not making the argument that Thibs should have stayed(I could make that argument, but it's not the one I am making.) I am pointing out the very fact that he benched guys because they weren't ready/earning their spots is being vindicated now, under a new coach who is giving them every opportunity.

Yeah lets bring Taj in when we are down 9 with a minute to go not when we are down 8 with 6 minutes to go.... Hoiberg really doesnt have a clue

im a Hoiberg supporter but i don't get his beef with Taj and his fetish for Niko

Hoiberg is basically Thibs but with different players...its very strange

Because he is making even less adjustments than the guy that was chased out of town.

To be fair, he's coaching like an idiot. We have the worst plays after a timeout. He has Niko closing out games and Noah on the bench. Our offense doesn't resemble an offense. There's no flow, no pace, no game planning. It's like a day at the park. There's not much the hoi ball supporters could really look at and defend other than Doug showing improvement. Now, he can get better over the course of the season...but that's not a given. Right now, he looks terrible.

oh im with you on that. I was one of the few that didn't like the hoiberg hire though. its just surprising the supporters of him are giving him 20+ games before turning on him. even I, who doesn't like the hire, am willing to see it out now that he is the coach

you can call me fool and i see now how wrong i was but i thought that we were going to be a "smaller" Golden State team, shoot and score many threes, push the tempo and defend well, damn we just suck

that's the style im sure many envisioned but we simply don't have the roster constructed to play that kind of basketball

The Hoiberg signing always seem to reek of Tim Floyd revisited. Another stiff with no pro coaching experience....for once, the good ole boy network of experienced NBA coaches seems like the move that should've been made, as pathetic as that sounds.
