Lackey was not horrible. How many of those hits were ground balls that made it through holes in the infield? At least four of those hits were ground ball singles. Pitchers want to get ground balls. He got ground balls. It was just stupid luck that the balls found holes in the infield. We got that same luck in the top of the 9th with both of those singles that scored the tying and winning runs.
I can't be convinced that Lackey was good enough. It's just not the case. Thank goodness other stuff happened.

Yeah, they were finding the gaps well. What's crazy, is all of the long balls this series, came off the Cubs' bats.

People do realize this is probably the greatest Cubs victory in my lifetime? Sure, they have clinched two NLCS but not in this fashion.

Given the situation....it was the greatest comeback win I've ever seen. And over the years I've seen them come back from 8 and 9 runs down but NEVER on a stage this big.

I don't think Lackey was very good at all. He didn't give the Cubs what they needed, but they bailed him out. Good news, because now we have Lester for Game 1 of the NLCS.

It was mine, too. They swept the Cardinals. :D

I remember game 7 that year of the ALCS, my dad was giving me a haircut and Damon hit the grand slam and I jumped out of the stool mid-cut. Thankfully he was just giving me a buzz cut.

No, it's not about your opinion, it's about a bunch of us that have been cheering this team on here since 2013 and you and some others come on and shit in our cornflakes in a stressful game in a great, great series. Criticism is fine, intense negativity is bullshit.

Fixed that for you

Not really. Giants don't hit the long ball.

Well, that's mostly due to their park. There was 2 games at Wrigley as well.
