Well, that's mostly due to their park. There was 2 games at Wrigley as well.

They were 28th in Home runs. It has nothing to do with where they play, they just aren't built that way.

I can't be convinced that Lackey was good enough. It's just not the case. Thank goodness other stuff happened.

His a fourth starter. He played like a fourth starter. He had some Ks, got ground balls. Most days he would have given up 1-3 runs over 5-6 innings. That is what you expect from a fourth starter. He isn't an ace anymore. I am guessing that if this isn't his last year he has only one more left. As a four or five he is fine. I mean our number 4 pitcher in 2003 was Dontrelle Willis. He is not a great pitcher anymore but a lot of what happened to him tonight was more bad luck with the 'ground balls with eyes' than bad pitching. We could have a lot worse.

Dontrelle Willis? Number 4 was Matt Clement, number 5 was Shawn Estes

Lackey got some bad breaks today. They didnt really T off on him. The Matt Moore hit was him and Ross thinking Moore wasnt going to swing. Had to be. No other reason he calls for a fastball there. The Giants could have really broke this game open, but they didnt. They also played sloppy D. The Cubs basically hung around and struck. Its what GREAT teams do.

I will try to find out when the Cubs' flight gets to OHare so the following can boo them for being such garbage:

AriBear
FatBabbies
ShawonOMeter
Greg23
etc.
etc.
I will admit I was a little on the downside of this team earlier in this game but I never said they were garbage.

OK, I don't think you're wrong with this. I was happy with Lackey over the course of the season obviously.

I just heard so much about Lackey's playoff experience and wasn't impressed with the showing tonight. That's it. I was pissed at Lackey in the moment and apparently that equates to me booing the whole team according to TL1961 which is the only reason this whole discussion is happening,

You know what I'd like to know.... how the **** did Javier Baez commit 44 errors in 2013. I mean say what you will about my previous comments before this season about his hitting but if there was anything I was truly wrong about it was his defense. I always knew he had the tools but kinda figured he might be that type of guy who always had the tools but never put it all together defensively kinda like Castro. And to be honest, early on in 2014/15 it sorta looked like that might be the case with 12 errors in 634.2 innings.

This year though... guy realistically might be the best defensive player in baseball. That's nuts to me. He has several plays that didn't count on review that could be the best play of the year. I feel like had I known this is what he would be defensively my opinion on him would have varied greatly.

Sorry. NOBODY was on the Javy train before me. No bigger fan, except maybe my brother who used to say "Javy may be the best of all the young guys. Just wait."

Lackey pitched well enough and the Cubs did what they have been doing all year; winning huge games coming from behind. Does anyone not believe this is the year?!!

Javy is probably the best infielder in baseball defensively. That's why he has started every game in the postseason. The guy is un-freaking-believable!!! And he drives in the winning run in 2 of the 3 wins!! MVP of the NLDS IMHO...:) :)

Still think Javy needs to work on his eye and working counts to coax walks. But his D has gotten very good. It could have a lot to do with the better quality fields and self confidence. But it looks like he has had that talent.

If he can bring up his BB% to 8 I doubt he will be a bench player next year.

I think javy is the best defensive player we have at 2b, 3b and ss

Guy has sick range, cannon for an arm, amazingly soft and quick hands.

A few morons were suggesting he may be trade bait in the offseason....what?

No chance

Guy still will struggle vs right handed pitching, swings out of his shoes at times and hasnt completely mastered the strike zone....but hes alot better at all three than he was last year

If he bring up his bb% to 8%. He becomes a superstar.
