The Big Ten spanked that ass today. Duke and UNC both blown out by Illinois and Iowa. Conference play should be crazy this year.

The Big Ten ACC challenge is 6 to 1 in favor of the Big 12 and the one is a complete collapse by Purdue after an 18 point halftime lead.

What a change it is for Illinois.
I watched an Illinois basketball game tonight in which Illinois gave away at least 10 and maybe as much as 14 or 16 points at the rim where they did not finish, got the usual crazy calls in Dukes favor( multiple charge calls were just ridiculous) and they won by 15 at Duke.
That’s a good feeling.
While I think it is fair to say that Duke has done absolutely nothing to deserve the number 10 ranking at this point in the season, (I’m not saying they can’t be a top 10 team by the end of the season but they certainly don’t deserve it right now), we just watched Illinois go play at #10 Duke, and Duke was literally never in the game.
At no time in the game, from the opening minutes until the closing minutes, did it look like Duke was going to win that game.

Yea...this Duke team isn't that great but i just saw the Illini turn the ball over 18 times, and not play their best ball, and still never thought Duke would win this game. Curbelo is going to make me have a heart attack by the end of the season. This kid is going to drive me crazy. But once the game slows down for him, watch out.

Think about the assistant coach that got demoted and is no longer with the program. That’s when recruiting started taking a hit. I will leave it at that. Another reason is Covid and players being able to stay. Illinois is getting negatively recruited against with a couple of those seniors possibly hanging out for another year.
They will find some good recruits in the Spring after a solid season and good seed in the tournament.
