I like what JAX is doing here. Decline the 5th year option, then cut him before his 4th year starts. Admit you made a mistake. The guy didn't measure up, and he's a problem person. Move on and build for the future.

I wonder if Pace is a genius who played the long game on Fournette, got lucky, or is going to let the dude slip through his fingers due to reasons of team culture.

Whoah. That's out of nowhere, no? Or does this go back to him and Coughlin kind of butting heads?

His bad attitude, and if you look at this stats, he's no better than Jordan Howard.

Sad thing is that he has more ability than most of the backs in the league, he's just never learned how to use it or mature. Dude is a basket case

Didn’t measure up lol???

He had 1600 total yards last year including 76 receptions.

Would be a massive upgrade to piano back Monty.

Anyway, at the most Monty is supposed to miss week one. There's an article that said he's doubtful, but could play week one. I do not feel comfortable with Cohen/Patterson, so Ryan Nall gets some snaps week 1?

What surprises me is his number of receptions , sign him cause Monty's injury could drag on for months, we have the worst RB's in the NFC North

Honestly, I rather he'd sit and get right for a long season if that would benefit him. I think the NFL has a problem with suck it up and play to the detriment of the team because a player never gets close to right for the year. One extra week or 2 to get right can give more overall benefit to a season. No, I'm not talking about being sore or banged up. Pulls, strains, dislocations type stuff.

New England, Tampa, Chicago make sense

Tampa for sure along with the Bears. Cupboard is bare in Tampa. Pats recently added Lamar Miller to go with James White and Michel.

My guess is he’s a lock for Tampa if they want him but the Bears should be a favorite.

he almost led the Jags to victory over the Pats in the playoffs a couple years ago, one or two bad play calls cost them that game at the end....we could certainly sign him and he could have 14 rushing attempts to go with our 50 pass attempts

Unless Pace opens up his pocket book, I can’t imagine fournette ever wAnting to come to Chicago. Worst run game last year with a pair of quality backs and a HC that simply refuses to run for long periods of time, almost every single week.

Especially after being in Jacksonville.
