This is the legitimate A-for-A argument. "But Mahomes is in a great organization" isn't a great argument, in my opinion, because the Patriots appear to have been the gold standard of operating a franchise for 20 years.

No one thought the Hunt family were some great owners before Reid got there. (In many ways, they're the McCaskeys of the AFC.) Even after Reid got there, no one (at least not anyone in the know) believed John Dorsey to be some great GM.

At most, it's a wash.
Even Reid was thought of as a choker before he went to KC

100 percent. People really forget that. Reid had a reputation pretty similar to Mike McCarthy's reputation right now, minus the Super Bowl ring.

When he became available, he was thought of as washed and part of the dying era, allowing his players to run rampant without discipline.

Heck, he was absolutely on the hot seat in KC after losing the Wild Card game to the Titans. Consensus was that he just didn't have what it took to be successful in the playoffs.

those pesky ALMOST interceptions! also, link to that being factual?
Can't. The NFL took it down and it can't be found now. Because? Exactly. The guy who made the video was stat hunting something else when he noticed the numbers. He said he was gonna do a whole new podcast on the subject. Now he is nowhere to be found online.

No shock that you’ve gone full conspiracy mode about it. Not everything is some cover up

So why was the video quickly taken down? And why did the promised one never come out? It's not a conspiracy these video's disappeared. These are facts.

There were some bad calls, but the only conspiracy to me is how Sean McDermott is still Buffalo's HC

Patriots carried Brady his first few Super Bowls. Not saying he didn't earn it and have his moments, but it's not even controversial to say Brady was not among the best QBs in the league his first couple of Super Bowls. So saying Mahomes is somehow watered down because of the greatness of the Chiefs organization seems hollow.
This but he hasn't surpassed Brady overall... yet. Brady had the best vision and ball placement in the league for years and he was refining his motion and general game throughout his career. Best mechanics is easily Rodgers along with similar off platform to Mahomes. Mahomes may be best in the clutch and no denying that arm and awareness but he's only 1/2 way through his career. It's not just about rings as it's a team game but excellence with longevity matters when discussing a GOAT.

This is a fair stance to have.

I'm reminded of Roger Federer just absolutely dominating the tennis world in the 00s and into the 2010s. He was doing stuff no one had ever done before, was regularly collecting 3-4 majors a year, and was generally basically unbeatable.

He made it to something like 20 straight major finals.

Even before he surpassed Sampras' number of majors won, it was clear that Federer was the best ever. Federer was better and more dominant than Sampras ever was. But there were still people who weren't willing to go there until Federer surpassed Sampras on the majors list.

Were they wrong? In my opinion, yes. Federer was better. He just was. Even before he passed Sampras. But even so, it seems fair to expect someone to take the mantle on championships before they're crowned the GOAT. I disagree with that stance, but it is a fair stance.

Now, a pretty flimsy stance to have is, "Brady is better than Mahomes because the Chiefs are some amazing organization."

It's true but he got a lot out of McNabb and Smith. Never felt either was especially clutch, especially McNabb.

These guys make it look easy by doing the work. Federer was an artist.

It never looked like Rodgers worked especially hard but he trained like crazy before he ever got his shot and was very demanding of his players.

Sampras was dominant in one style of tennis, but others (including Agassi) were better all-around players. That said, I think Federer and Mahomes are similar in that neither guy remarried to a hotter wife....
