As Castro blows a bubble on the way to 1st while hitting into a double play with runners on 1st and 2nd with nobody out. :smh:
Like that Rizzo bunted away from the shift.
3 games into the season and I am already sick of this offense, yes lets bat Solar 2 and Suckstro Clean up.
When are people going to stop defending Castro's defense? He barely bent his knees as he let that routine groundball through his legs. The day the Cubs remove Castro from SS, they will be a better team. I don't care what he does on offense, which today, is leave 5 guys on base. :smh:
Well....on the bright side....good job, Edwin Jackson?
That was a bad play by him. Until the Cubs have someone better to replace him, they are not a better team. He is probably the second or third best hitting SS in the league. Last year, he was the best besides Tulo.
Well....on the bright side....good job, Edwin Jackson?
I'm still trying to figure out why Schlitter made the team.
Wood 90 pitches and couldn't get past the 5th.....
But lone run sac fly...... in Fkn Denver? Wow.
I would say they need Bryant but he is currently hitting under .200 against Memphis. 0-3 today with a SO.
Lets see Rizzo 2-2 and plunkjed the other 2 times. So on base 4 times and scores the lone run....ya..... again in Denver....wow.
Again the Cubs can't hit.
The big one there is move runners along. It bewilders me that these guys seemingly don't know how to play pepper and just push the ball away to move a runner from second to third base. Hopefully that will change with more high OBP guys in the line-up as they are less to be free swingers looking for only a hit. A good team will make good outs, crazy as that sounds, i.e. working the count, sacrificing, moving runners by hitting the opposite way, and so on..
However, one good thing I did see is that the Cubs are being a ton better on the base paths in taking the extra base.
Not too long ago, a guy on second base and a fly ball to center, and the runner would be half way. Now, they are tagging and getting the extra bag.
That will continue, and because of that, some of the runs will start to increase.
Again the Cubs can't hit.
This team is filled with inferior talent. Its been ignored in terms of TOR in the minors and now were relying on Bryant and Soler (who's already struggling) to solve the problems within a month?!
Joke.
This team got better in small, insignificant respects outside Lester in terms of competing.
Today they showed the joke on offense they are. They can get guys on, but cant movet hem anywhere. Pat and Ron Coomer, is it? On the radio kept criticizing the team's inability to produce offense.
This team needs a serious wake up call, or we can enjoy another nice draft pick in 2016.......I've never seen a team more in need of a kick in the ass than this pathetic excuse for an "offense." And that's the worst part.......
That's basically what I meant. You just defined it better. I dont get Castro hitting cleanup either. He should be hitting 2nd instead. However he will be moved out of the cleanup spot once Bryant gets here. It's not about hitting, it's about hitting when it counts. This is the difference between good teams........ Castro hitting cleanup is not going to get it done for the Cubs, imo.
