I'm sure they are too considering it probably saved them $15 mil possibly more by waiting until july 8th to call him up.
Well I didn't know they called him up in 2011, and he went back up and down numerous times before hitting it big in 2012.

Looking at the game logs, he missed around 20 days from July 30th-Aug 18th in 2011 after being called up. Baseball ref doesn't have minor league game logs so I'm not certain if he was hurt or sent back down for three weeks. He started 2012 in the minors as well and was called up Apr 28. Considering he hit .220/.281/.390 in 2011 it's not really surprising he started 2012 in the minors. So, in total those to send backs accounted for around 45 days. Had he stayed up he might have been right on the borderline in terms of super two(not sure exact service time requirement that year). Not sure if that was calculated or just lucky on the Angel's part. Either way, had they actually hit super two with him it would seem pretty silly considering how horrible he hit in 2011 and even with him they finished 4 games back in the wild card.

Just points to what they think of Olt. He has sucked and they are tossing him out their regardless. Talk about a filler player.

At first I'll bet they were trying to build up value. Now seeing him hit .150 he is just filling a role.

And Hammel surrenders a 2 run bomb to McCutchen...

There goes his scoreless inning streak...

Hopefully this is just a bad game for Hammel and not the start of him being who he is as a starter..

Casto should be benched for not running out of the box.

They need to trade him.

It might be safe to just not pitch to Cutch tonight. Especially if there are runners on.

Pitch to him. His average like most dictate that they will make an out in 7 of every 10 AB's. I like the odds.
