I assumed Baez would start today. Kind of surprised they are going to go back to back days with Ross. Montero did have a terrible game behind the plate yesterday. May just wanted to give him some rest.

Heyward has been struggling at the plate. Give him a day to just relax and regroup.

Weird he took 3 lefties out of lineup, opposing starter must not be tough on righties.

Yes, going back for 3 years. righties have hit Christian Bergman at a .357 clip and a whopping .992 OPS. Lefties in almost the same number of at bats have batted .246 with a .676 OPS. Completely weird for being a right hander.

I get the right handed lineup against Bergman and I even get giving a scuffling Heyward a day off but having both he and Zobrist out of the lineup when they were the "stir the drink" guys that are supposed to make this thing go mystifies me a bit. I think today is a must win psychologically for Arrieta, who was not sharp last time out, and the team in general who were awful yesterday. I just hope this isn't a little too clever.
