Nice rendition of the 7th inning stretch by Zach Miller.

You can bet Maddon's not doing that. You realize our normal 2 and 3 hitters are out today, right? Bryant may be slumping a bit early, but he doesn't deserve your ignorance, and we certainly don't need to hear it over and over!
I dont care who isn't playing. The #1 tenant of developing a line up is that your #2 hitter is you best contact guy. So, Maddon takes the least reliable contact guy and sticks him at 2? WTF

I like him and want him to do good, but he is a .255-265 hitter, that will hit 27-30 Hrs each year, strike out a million times, will clog up the middle of the line up, is stiff in the field with limited range that will expect 25M per year one day. What part did I miss?

Do you think there is anyway the Cubs can work out shorter term extension with Fowler? Say 3 years? Or is that not realistic from either parties standpoint?

The Cubs have an option on him next year or have to buy him out. No need to extend him.

More like a .275-.285 hitter with a .370 plus OBP every year with 35 plus homeruns with the ability to hit 50 plus on any given season. Good talking.

So I guess Maddon is an idiot now too? And Rizzo sucks as well for hitting in the low 200's? Your avatar couldn't be more apt for your posts.

Doesnt make enough contact to hit .285 or 50 HRs lololoolololololololo

I just pray Maddon never bats Bryant second again. Thank god other hitters took the burden off of him

Off topic.. I see Wainright got lit up again, his ERA over 8 now

Sure be nice if Cubs could pull away early from Cards n Pirates and just relax and play ball all summer without pressure from other teams

I'm going to guess no. They've said they want to limit him a little to keep him fresh after all his innings last year. We shall see.

Wood finally got up in the pen, but Jake just batted. My guess Joe gives him a chance for a quick inning. Anything else and Woods in. Jake at 100 pitches.

Edit - I guess not, you're right.
