Another great outing for Jake with 8 scoreless innings. The guy's a machine.
It's one of Ommy's more brazenly trollish dangles. Bryant grades out as a solidly above average fielder at 3B.There's a nice turn by Bryant for poor fielder.
The Cubs have an option on him next year or have to buy him out. No need to extend him.
He also had 2 errors yesterdayIt's one of Ommy's more brazenly trollish dangles. Bryant grades out as a solidly above average fielder at 3B.
He is on a pace for 50 errors for the season. If he had any ability to move left he might have 70 errorsIt's one of Ommy's more brazenly trollish dangles. Bryant grades out as a solidly above average fielder at 3B.

That would be great! I definitely want the Cubs to win the division. Having your season come down to 1 wild card game is fun as a surprise team...as a team with expectations, I'd rather not go through that.Off topic.. I see Wainright got lit up again, his ERA over 8 now
Sure be nice if Cubs could pull away early from Cards n Pirates and just relax and play ball all summer without pressure from other teams

On another subject: Arrietta's start should put to bed the notion last year was a fluke. No reason why he cant get consecutive Cy Youngs. Not even Cy Young did that

It's a mutual option.

of course it is but I use it to counter the ridiculous notion that Bryant is a 50 HR guyThat's a small sample size. But it will be fun watching Fowler bat .424 for the rest of the season.

Fowler's option for next season is 9 million dollars or 5 million dollars for the Cubs to buy it out...
does that mean if the Cubs offer him the 9 million and he doesn't accept it, the Cubs would owe him nothing?

Yes. He cant negotiate. They have to come to a mutual agreement. So, if the Cubs say they want him back then they must pay him 9 million if he accepts. If they tell him they don't want him back, then he can say he wants to be back and they owe him 5 million to buy him out. So, basically, its up to Fowler if he wants to be back and then it up to the Cubs if they want to pay him to be on the team or buy him out of the 1 year contract.
