He can adapt enough to play CF on occasion but youd like your everyday CFer to be a little more flexible and quick enough to cover a lot of ground..
Heyward 6'6 250-60 pounds, I mean he not slow but........
Heyward looks clumsy and awkward in CF and take weird angles to the ball. Amazing that one of the "best OF in MLB" isnt suited for CF

Do you think Kris Bryant is going to turn into a good player eventually?
Bryant will be a good not great player. Certainly not worth the $250M+ payday he wants. Is he even in the top 10 3rd basemen in MLB?

I mean taking weird angles when you're not used to the ball coming at you in the same direction is sort of understandable. Think it has more to do with just experience in CF than him taking bad routes because historically he's been really route efficient in RF.

Bote really does hit the ball hard. Ball sounds great off the bat

Fine, this isnt spring training or the minor leagues. Maybe he should work that out before they stick him there

I thought Baez was taking a 3-0 pitch the way he just stood there...

Q is cruising so far... 37 pitches in 3 innings is stupid good. That's like 12 pitches an inning. 15 an inning is really good.

Is it just me or does this offense feel different than the past two years? Like what I mean is it really feels like every pitcher is having to work their butt off to retire the hitters. Maybe it's just bias in that the cubs have like a bajillion 2 out rallies but i look at today's game and they have 5 hits and weaver has thrown 86 pitches in the third inning.

It is not just you. I agree.

Again, we just made Weaver work quite a bit, and only a very generous strike call prevented him from facing Bryant with the bases loaded.

Not really, I mean yeah it seems that way cause their getting on base and scoring a bunch of runs this month but we been talking about how they run the pitch counts up a lot for a couple years now

Well #3 in career wRC+ after a bad injury. Ya he has a handicap.

Maybe the Cubs could package him and Contreras for a good pitch framer. But it would be hard to find a team willing to take so much bad value.

Well if people have talked about it they were wrong. 2018 3.83 pitches/pa. 3.90 in 2017. League average both years was 3.9. 2016 was 3.96. 2019 so far is 3.99
