I'm liking Castro at 2B....his throws seem to be much more accurate and he turns the DP pretty darn well.

He still is too nonchalant and does not make his throws with zip on the ball. He flips it a little and it will cost him on close plays. But he has woke up a little and seems to finally be playing a little harder.

Baseball 101 is that Bryant goes there, and sacrifices the out if need be, to assure the throw is cut, and the second run scores.

That is the correct base running play, yet fans routinely get upset at the batter for getting thrown out.
The ball gets cut off if they don't have a play at the plate. You don't cut it jut to get the guy out at 2B, because the run scored before the out.

How many close plays has it cost him on exactly?

At least three double plays, for starters. His little soft flip instead of getting the ball to Russell quickly has cost at least three. In a fairly small number of chances.

The ball gets cut off if they don't have a play at the plate. You don't cut it jut to get the guy out at 2B, because the run scored before the out.

If the runner is scoring easily, regardless of a cutoff, the batter doesn't need to go to second. And the first base coach has to have input on that.

But EVERY other time, as a batter, you are headed for second. If the throw is not cut, you have an extra base. But a cutoff man seeing an easy out at 2nd may cut when he really should not. And the batter headed for second can force that cutoff and it results in a run - sometimes a run that may not have scored.

But ask any major league player, and they will tell you that what Bryant did was exactly by the book.

It is only the reactionary (uneducated) fan that gets upset and refers to that as a base running blunder.

The 1B coach at that level doesn't have input on shit. This isn't LL. By the time players get into college the only thing a 1B coach is needed for is to collect ankle guards and if a ball is out of the sight of the baserunner, they may provide assistance.

Don't change the subject or start arguing every fucking letter like you do. My point was correct - and IS correct. The play made by Bryant was exactly what he was supposed to do.

1) Your point was wrong. 2) I didn't change the subject.

Just a matter of time before the ball finds the guy playing out of position....he is not a centerfielder.

Fowler would've had that no doubt.

Well, I sure thought Hendicks did a nice job getting into the 6th inning pitching after the tough 1st inning, but the defense has let him down a bit this inning.

It wasn't correct. Its still not correct now. But, you are not emotional at all. Rizzo struck out with a runner on third less than 2 out. Should I make another post complaining about it? Or should I make a comment when someone makes an error? Tell me what I should say on these board oh non emotional one.

I love seeing you guys argue like little school girls. Unfortunately I went to the White Sox game so I missed most of our beloved Cubbies. Headed to bed after this half inning so hopefully we at least tie it up
