Did LaStella stumble or something or is he slow..
Yea Marte has a strong arm, but he ran into corner, put arms out to wall to stop his momentum, then set and threw ball..

All that and La Stella was out by a mile

Im sure LaStella isn't the fastest, but I am telling you. Mate makes plays like that a lot that you think he has no chance. His arm is so much stronger than people think.

Why is Austin Jackson bunting while he is running?

Was reading something earlier supporting rizzo for MVP and mentioned he's hitting pretty great with RISP

Rizzo could get consideration because of the Cubs making the playoffs but I think Harper has squashed everyone else now. Hit his 40th tonight.

Yeah I sort of agree but the argument being made for rizzo was that Harper hasn't really come up in big situations and Rizzo has plus the whole playoff vs not thing.

Eddie Matthews -- 47 Braves 1953 21
Joe DiMaggio -- 46 Yankees 1946 22
Johnny Bench -- 45 Reds 1970 22
Juan Gonzalez -- 43 Rangers 1992 22
Alex Rodriguez -- 42 Mariners 1998 22
Mel Ott -- 42 Giants 1929 20
Eddie Matthews -- 40 Braves 1954 22
Bryce Harper -- 40 Nationals 2015 22

List of 40 home run players before 22. I would say that is some elite company

Definitely. Thing is it's always down to that stupid debate over "valuable" vs "best" player. Personally as a big WAR guy I buy Harper for it. That being said, I called Rizzo as top 5 NL MVP in April. Had that one down.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Illinois Fighting Illini
The blind support for Castro is ridiculous. No Cubs fan wants him to fail. When he does well I'm happy. But there is a reason the veteran SS lost his job to a rookie, and as a lot here point out, it wasn't for his offense. It was for his defense. It's not hard to get. Those are the facts. Maddon gets it, some Cubs fans get it.
No one is supporting Castro blindly. He is likely the odd man out come trade time this off season.
