In the stroll down memory lane, does anyone remember when we had players like Mather, Barney, Stewart, Volstad, LaHair, Corpas, DeWitt, E-Jax, Campana, Koyie Hill, Beliveau, Camp, Maine, Lopez, Rodriguez, Vitters, Marmol, Raley, and Rusin a few years back?

I'd like to know if other teams have gutted it to the core and rebuilt it this fast? I can't remember any off hand but I am sure their are some. I just know that teams like the Pirates, Nationals, Royals, Mets and others have taken a lot longer to do so, and some of those teams took over 20 years.

I think it is a testament to the job this front office has done in rebuilding it with youth, and not having to go after a ton of free agents.

It also speaks volumes to the scouting and developing departments seeing just how young they actually are.

Good times are ahead folks. :fap: :fap: :fap: :fap: :fap: :fap:
It never been done like this, that why GMs and other baseball people were giving epstein high praises when he started because no teams has ever had the guts to do what he did, which was rebuild an entire organization from rookie ball to the majors. ..

Nice win today. I don't think we will catch the Cards for the Division but this was an important series from a psychological standpoint to show the Cards we can play with them in their place if it comes down to that in the post season. Hopefully we can win one of the next two, take the series and really build our confidence. Hopefully we can overhaul the Pirates and get home field for a playoff game. Big decision on who to start.

You know one of the benefits of not having good young pitching is the cubs don't have to worry about limiting innings like many other teams.

I'm concerned with Wacha vs Hammel. Hammel of old would have to appear to have a shot at it. Current Hammel and forget about it. Wacha is now a tick under Arrieta And I do not expect a Cubs blow out.

Game 3 would be a good one. Lester vs Martinez. That should be a push on the staff. So that game should be won by the team that executes better.

It will be tough to win another game in this series. Cards have the best record for a reason.

If we have anything going for us, I read Wacha hasn't pitched in over 10 days, so let's hope he is rusty.

Theo took the job October 11th 2011.

Since that point, the only guys who are on the 40 man today who were acquired previously were

Zac Rosscup
Starlin Castro
Javier Baez
Dallas Beeler
Eric Jokisch
Arismendy Alcántara

That's insane that in four years the Cubs basically rebuilt their entire foundation.

If Haren can put together 6 innings of no run baseball, so can Hammel. Hammel needs to get his shit together

I wouldn't worry so much about Hammel if Lester was pitching lights out. You can get by with a very strong top two in the rotation, but Lester is going have to greatly step it up.

Not sure what is the issue with Hammel. I haven't heard one way or another why his results are worse.

still I can not just say they will win that game. Unless Hammel gets back to what he was doing early year.
