Im only saying they would move Soler if management prefers Bryant in OF over 3B. . Im definitely not saying i want him traded or think he should be..

If they plan on trading Castro, this surge from him has definitely put a major smile on hoyer face. .

No doubt his behavior and offensive surge since his benching has raised the antennas from teams who have been interested in him but had doubts..

Honestly, I'm of the opinion that probably wont be popular but I wouldn't mind seeing them have Schwarber continue 2016 in the minors to continue working on catching. That could potentially allow you to play Castro at 2B, Baez at 3B and Soler/Bryant in the corners or some combo of all that. At that point you're just playing for time to get good value out of whomever you ultimately wind up wanting to deal.

Oh, **** me!

Mr.Take a called strike (and whine about it) twice a game, better not hit a HR like he always does.

Ok.. your missing the whole point. .
It not about keeping Castro and or Soler.
It about where management prefers to play bryant for the next decade plus. ... 3B or RF

I am not anywhere close to missing the point.

Bryant will likely wind up in the OF at some point. But they are not trading Soler in favor of Castro to play Bryant in RF in 2016.

Russel - Baez has the makings of a fabulous middle infield.

Our Catcher who just won the batting title in double A Tennessee might have different thoughts on that.

Forgot I had game paused several minutes - was worried about Carp after he had made out.

I doubt that happens too..
I think Schwarber catching days are all but over, besides being the 3rd catcher on team..

I actually think Willson Contreras mightve moved up the ladder as the catcher to replace montero...

Having him in AAA isn't mutually exclusive with Schwarber. Both were on AA for over half the year. You can easily just DH one and C the other to stop some of the wear and tear.

Favor of Castro? ????

What they decide to do with bryant and soler has absolutely nothing to do with Castro. ..

Again if they decide in off season they want bryant to play RF, then Soler is getting traded. .

Way to stop the bleeding, Strop. A few more runs before I hit the hay would be wonderful!

This is a game thread. And you are failing to follow youre own point. Baez would go to third if castro went to 2nd. THAT moves Bryant to RF and Soler out.

Castro over Soler.

Ain't happenin'.

How do you walk so many guys with a huge lead?

Shoot a pitcher who does that.

Maybe but Schwarber has been vocal about really thinking he can catch. So, this isn't quite a Boras case where the cubs holding him down would be a money like play. It would be a some what easy sell to Schwarber that while his bat is clearly ready he's only going to get the appropriate reps at C in AAA. And as I said, it would just be essentially buying for time. Now you could argue his bat's too good to not be in the line up and that is perfectly valid. I'm just saying it's an option especially if the team/player want him to C.
