Maddon is just masterful in who plays and where....he just makes really good decisions. Everyone gets their chance and all of them are hungry when they do. That's what good managers do....haven't seen that much in this city.

his moves work, crazy with so many young guys.

We dont have anyone at 2nd that will unseat Soler. Baez will play 2nd. He's at 3rd because we are short on OF right now with Soler and Schwarber hurt. He's our 2nd baseman next year.
They could keep Castro there if they want. .

If not you can find a decent fielding 2Bmen, heck they can go with Alcantara there if they want just for his defense. ..

Its all going to come down to where they feel Bryant future is at defensively. . 3B or OF

Granted we don't have a ton to go off of Baez at 3B but I like what I've seen from him there more than what I've seen out of him at 2B. Could just be confirmation bias as I've always thought he profiled better at 3B than 2B though. Sort of feel like his strong arm goes to waste at 2B though I do see the argument that moving Castro might be more likely than Soler.

Should have pulled Hammel just for walking Molina with a 8 run lead.

8-0 and you walk a guy?

If what I was told yesterday is true, that 3rd walk by Hammel ends a steak of 65 straight games in which the Cubs starter has not walked more than two.

of course, when three of the five only go 5 IP it makes it easier to maintain, but that's a pretty good streak.

Grichuk is a beast... Cards gonna be scary when they get all their guys back. Better beat on them now before Wainwright is back next year, too.

I think he will. He has made significant changes.

He has made significant changes without changing what made him so lethal (quick bat and power). Him and Schwarber will be our best hitters for years to come

Castro does not add more to the team than Soler, and you can't keep trying to win with poor defense in the middle infield.

Im only saying they would move Soler if management prefers Bryant in OF over 3B. . Im definitely not saying i want him traded or think he should be..

If they plan on trading Castro, this surge from him has definitely put a major smile on hoyer face. .

No doubt his behavior and offensive surge since his benching has raised the antennas from teams who have been interested in him but had doubts..

Ok.. your missing the whole point. .
It not about keeping Castro and or Soler.
It about where management prefers to play bryant for the next decade plus. ... 3B or RF

Cards had 3 hits in 6 innings, so we are walking them.

Three in this inning. Could be 8-5 with two innings to go. Let's not go there.
