Strop seems to struggle more in STL than elsewhere for w/e reason.
So, cubs continue to struggle....
What would they get in return on trades of Arrieta and Lackey as rentals..

Maybe...If you're within 10 games of .500 at trade deadline, you're contending for 2nd WC spot.
Maybe...
My point was come late June or July and their still somewhat struggling ..
Do they consider moving Arrieta and Lackey to try and get something for them..
If their 10 games under , most likely cause those two are struggling...
Hitters are struggling..
So, unless they pay out all their top prospects for big time help (which they won't do), just to try and be the 2nd WC team.. not worth it..
Better off getting what they can with guys that will be gone after the year, see if they can make a deadline deal for a controlled starter and retool for 2018..

I said they should get what they can for them...You know what's funny about your posts? If you actually got dumber, I'd just assume they were sarcastic and think you were smarter so congrats on finding the rock bottom of where I feel your level of baseball knowledge is.
Just so you know, here is your argument
- If Arrieta and Lackey are struggling and the team is 10 games under .500, should the Cubs trade them for value even though they're older and going to be FA?
Do you see anything wrong with that statement and the logic that you're using?
That what were hoping..Ok, lets deal with some reality here. As it stands this team has s a .500 team and I don't see them becoming worse than that. If they're .500 at the deadline they'll be buyers not sellers. Now if that is the case I doubt they spend big on a rental like Darvish instead making a move that helps now and the future. Still there is virtually no scenario, outside of a major injury, where this team is in position to sell in July. None. Zero.
Cubs have 389 PA with RISP (tied 2nd most in MLB)
.216 Avg with RISP ( lowest in NL, 4th lowest in MLB)
That the struggle from having 6 main hitters hitting .243 or below in lineup..
Can't count on anyone to get a big hit in those situations.

You can include Schwarber in that too for not getting on in front of Bryant and coming up with Heyward Jay/Almora Baez on base and not producing...Stems from Rizzo and Zobrist slumping after Bryant. That is where you get your production.
