Didn't Willson hit a HR in his first AB?

The list espn showed about Happ being the 5th Cub to homer in his debut in past 25 seasons did not list Contreras...

They had Happ, Soler, Baez, Castro and Fukudome...

Or didn't his actual debut just be a runner or something? With no real AB? I can't remember now haha maybe that's why he wasn't on the list..

He homered on first pitch he saw as a PH...

Castro Solar and Contreras most recent Cubs to homer in first major league AB

Baez and Fukudome....no. Might have been 1st game for those two. Contereas, yes....also Heyward, yes but while not for the Cubs...it was against the Cubs.

I'll predict:

Schwarber
Happ
Rizzo
Candy
Baez
LaStella
Montero
Arreta
Almora

Bryant: still ill
Russell: shoulder
Zobrist: back

Monday is a off day so I believe Heyward would be eligible to come off the 10 day then. So I'm thinking that they rest up the injured and take the off day to reset the line up for the home series.

What I'm thinking is they will demote Candy when Heyward gets back. Happ I believe goes to RF with Heyward in CF. Russell goes back to SS and Baez rotates between 2B and SS to keep Russell and Zo healthier. Almora becomes the 4th OF.

Line up

Schwarber (Joe is stubborn)
Bryant
Rizzo
Happ (his HR's play up here)
Contreras
Heyward
Russell
Pitcher
Zo (mix it up)

Much rather see Almora in CF and Happ in LF

Russell
Heyward
Contreras
Baez

Almora

Schwarber needs a couple days off

Wondering if most these guys did anything or close to what they normally do in off season to stay baseball fit and ready..

I remember seeing and hearing about Bryant and Montero getting in batting work in off season ..
Heyward working on his new swing..

So, not coincidental that their off to good starts

Rizzo been busy doing all kind of charitable stuff, etc
That great but it seems like it taken a toll on him

Funny..
Bring guy up from minors , he shuts cardinals down and wins

Then the team 2 top starters have combined to give up 8 runs (4 apiece) in 9 innings..

AWESOME

Watch the sweep the next series. Lackey, Hendricjs and Butler all have looked good.

Looking like another 0fer game from the lead off hitter

13 times last 21 games, since 4 game hit streak
4 in a row

2 hit games --- 6 times
1 hit games --- 12 times
0 hit games --- 17 times

I keep expecting this team to turn around, from a statistical standpoint it's inconceivable that this team is this bad and that guys' numbers are not bouncing back to their career norms, and yet here we are. I'm flummoxed.
