The "issue" with Almora isn't lack of space to play him. Maddon could start him every day in CF if he wanted especially given Happ's struggles. But that's not how Maddon manages. He keeps everyone involved to limit wear and tear on guys early in a season. And frankly, if that's the way you're going to manage, having a bunch of guys with big splits is probably desirable. It allows you to match guys up naturally.

I wouldn't have a problem with this if they actually had guys on the bench that fit that mode, but this team doesnt...

Caratini not a guy you wanna plug in here and there other then to give Contreras a day off..

LaStella a nice bat to have on the bench but he not someone you want starting 2-3 games a week..

Happ is a liability defensively and he not exactly crushing RHP with a
.216 Avg .273 OBP

Zobrist is what he is and at this point in his career he can start 2 games in a row but then needs to sit a couple days..

Zobrist is actually the only one of these four that id look to fit in the lineup more and that would be to play LF or RF for Schwarber and mostly Heyward ..

All the others should be playing regularly every day

There really no reason to sit Almora as much as he does despite his struggle against some RHers...

I don't understand why you keep pushing this KK trade. The guy has been hurt each of the past 3 years, makes substantially more money than almora and is only a 105 wRC+ career hitter. He's not an upgrade over Almora. He's a side grade if anything and I'd argue he's a down grade. His best two seasons he hit .263/.298/.420 and .246/.331/.410. Almora is a career .290/.330/.440 hitter and his defense this year has been just as good as KK.

I’ve thought this over and K.K.’s injury opens up playing time for A.A. That is all.

What we know is Zobrist is also a injury case.

All said and done who is your lead off in Oct? Zobrist? If he is 100%. I doubt they will go in with a glaring weakness

You want to spend tons on a guy you know is a platoon?

Zobrist is "an injury case"? What does that mean?

From what I've seen with this team. They were hot in 2016 when Fowler was at the lead off.

When he got injured they went through their slump.

2017 with Schwarber they hovered .500. Go hot 2nd half with him removed. Pretty much had a rotating lead off.

2018 they struggled except when Almora was on fire at the lead off.

Right now they are depending on a oft injured Zobrist as the main lead off source. The guy they wanted failed.

So there is too much going on to pass it of. This team needs a everyday lead off. End of story.

Correct me if im wrong..
But
Youd trade their best pitching prospect in Alzolay and Happ for a guy who injured just to open up playing time for Almora?

WTF man. I have never heard anyone say Happ is any worse defensively than average.

In your psychotic effort to promote Almora, you are now making up shit about Happ to make Almora look better

We get it that you have man love for Almora. Just stop it

I'm more concerned with Happ's 50% SO rate vs any D lapse

Read carefully.

You just posted six lines of transactions, with TWO 10 trips to the DL. So, one in two years, and a second this year.

Yep, that sure is "an injury case".

No not both.

Kiermaier needs thumb surgery, out 3 months
Kevin Kiermaier knew something was wrong with his right thumb. Monday morning, his concerns were validated when it was learned he had a torn ligament.

If K.K. had a better health record then it would take more than both as he is a sure GG CF every year.

Let's set it strait:

Alozay is not a top 100 prospect. Top Cubs prospect doesn't amount to shit. Don't over value him.

.330/.413/.831 is the slash for Mallex Smith. They don't need K.K. back.

Kevin Kiermair is 28 YO

2018 28 Tampa Bay Rays $5,666,667 3.131
2019 29 Tampa Bay Rays $8,166,667
2020 30 Tampa Bay Rays $10,166,667
2021 31 Tampa Bay Rays $11,166,666
2022 32 Tampa Bay Rays $12,166,666
2023 33 Tampa Bay Rays *$13,000,000 $13M Team Option, $2.5M Buyout
Earliest Free Agent: 2023

So comes with plenty of control.

Now he is full of flaws. 7.5 career BB rate is below what you want. 21.9% SO rate is acceptable.

Over all he comes in with a plus glove hitting from the left. Work from there.

Trust me I've looked at other team's lead off situation and no team really stands out as a trade partner. Reds maybe with Hamilton. But his OBA is .306 right now. But he is GG quality CF. But that OBA is just ugly.

3 months for recover from Apr

https://www.mlb.com/news/rays-kevin-kiermaier-needs-thumb-surgery/c-272416826

Some stuff:

Kiermaier pointed out that each of his three injuries were freakish and "could have been avoided easily."

IDK honestly we are talking about post ASG which is right when teams are talking trades. Alzolay should be MLB ready and the Cubs have no spot. Knock on wood.

You post why Joe mixes up lineups, and rest guys. Then you point to his ABs and blame him. He went on the 10 day DL this season. And once last year. Good lord, could you twist it any more than you have?

I havent had a drink since 1989. You have been flipping out about Almora for weeks now. Are you his father or agent? All you talk about his how he is getting a raw deal.

I'm worried about you. I picture you naked in a basement somewhere with a thousand photos of Almora on the walls. You have to stop with the daily lecture about how Almora is being ripped off. You are freaking me out, man
