The "issue" with Almora isn't lack of space to play him. Maddon could start him every day in CF if he wanted especially given Happ's struggles. But that's not how Maddon manages. He keeps everyone involved to limit wear and tear on guys early in a season. And frankly, if that's the way you're going to manage, having a bunch of guys with big splits is probably desirable. It allows you to match guys up naturally.
I wouldn't have a problem with this if they actually had guys on the bench that fit that mode, but this team doesnt...
Caratini not a guy you wanna plug in here and there other then to give Contreras a day off..
LaStella a nice bat to have on the bench but he not someone you want starting 2-3 games a week..
Happ is a liability defensively and he not exactly crushing RHP with a
.216 Avg .273 OBP
Zobrist is what he is and at this point in his career he can start 2 games in a row but then needs to sit a couple days..
Zobrist is actually the only one of these four that id look to fit in the lineup more and that would be to play LF or RF for Schwarber and mostly Heyward ..
All the others should be playing regularly every day
There really no reason to sit Almora as much as he does despite his struggle against some RHers...
