All while Srussell could be more valuable thsn any of them. Great situation.

Russell is the perfect compliment to all of them. Good, but not great power and a wonderful contact guy. Our future looks bright!

In one day the Cubs have won as many games as the Bears will have in a 1 1/2 month span.

In an alternate universe where the bullpen didn't blow it on Wednesday, the Cubs are only 4 games behind the Cards

Castro can be clutch with the bat but could also pull a bone head play on the field.

He is really good if put into the right situations. But on the every day basis the odds increase that he will lose a game with his glove.

His glove has been worth the second best of his career in WAR.

He is going to play if we make the real playoffs. His bat has been one of the best on the team for the past month. Maddon isn't ignoring that. Now, where it gets tricky is fitting Castro, Baez, Schwarber, and Soler. That would have to be a continuous rotation.

All teams do that from time to time. What is good about this one is that it doesn't happen all that often.

Soler is a liability. He is pushing it to make it back just to keep viable to the team.

They lose nothing with Baez at 3B and Bryant at RF. you could say that they are better off that way and Soler has been holding them back.

I would venture that Jackson inRF would be a upg.

I think Soler gets this and is pushing it to keep from being left off the play off 25 man.

On Castro. He has been mostly used vs LH pitching. I don't see them changing this. Not broke don't fix it.

Big game tonight for the Cubbies as the noose keeps getting tighter on the Cards....lost the delayed game from last night and are heading to Chapman time down three in the second game.

This could turn into a 3 team race to the wire.

Cubs need to sweep the phils and then go full throttle next week against the pirates and Cardinals. ..

Take 3 of 4 from pirates and be within 3 of the Cards by next weekend series at home. .. Could be their big opportunity to get in first place. .

On top of the double win....Cincy added a run in the 8th and didn't even have to use Chapman which makes him good to go tomorrow. Using him twice today probably would have made him unavailable tomorrow.

looks like it's the Cardinals who come undone by September now, not the Cubs. Keep the pressure on boys.
