Bryant should get some more votes now. I think Arrenado had taken the lead

If that's the analysts opinion I think it is fairly dumb. The cubs are a team that is going to play a lot of 1 run games because they are a good team. And they are going to lose a lot of 1 run games because they aren't going to get blown out. In other words, unless you assume they are going to win most if not all of their games they are going to lose a lot of tight games. As for piling on, you might not be entirely wrong though I think your reasoning is off. I think it's more of a case that when the cubs are playing well they will walk a lot and force into a teams bullpen and then feast on that bullpen. When they aren't hitting well they deal more with starters who tend to be better pitchers.
This is Why they should trade for Chapman. Swear seeing Jake walk 5 guys in 5 innings then have to deal with a shakey MR. You are going to start crying is anyone but Wood/Strop/Rondon enter.
If the Yanks want Vogelbach. And he has 14 HR's and hitting .300. you have to do it. Even on a rental. Who knows they may pay out on him if he stabilizes the pen and pushes them to the series.
All I do know is they are playing with fire right now. They have to get a shut down guy in the pen.
Setting the bar a bit low there with Vogelbach you know? I'm pretty sure he wouldn't even be the main piece in a trade for any of those players. Additionally, don't really see how Chapman solves the problem of Arrieta pitching 5 innings. Chapman isn't going to be a multiple inning reliever for the cubs. He'd either be the closer or set up guy. And even if that pushes say Strop back an inning it doesn't really do much to solve the 6th.

Rumor is that Chapman isnt a good cultural fit for this team.
This is all about the playoffs. Nobody really wants to see Cahill.
I, for one, would not be hyped for a 1st baseman who can't play D. It's way more than his own errors. It's about saving IF errors. Bad D kills! We have seen it for decades.
This year he is at .309/.425/.564...15 HR's. 59 SO and 47 BB. That is numbers that Schwarber was pulling last year. He gets a bad wrap because his D is limited. But at 1B it is minimized. 4 errors thus far. As far as a hitter goes his BB:SO are pretty close to 1:1 and the power came back this year.
So ya he could become a masher in Yankee stadium where the park favors LH hitters. Give him a few years to adjust because the hitting talent is there. Those numbers are real and is in line as he has always has done. If it was not for the Rizzo trade we would be hyped about him. Given Bryant can man 1B and Baez at 3B there is no real need for him this year.
Considering it is a rental. How much is he worth? By the deadline Vogelbach could be looking at 20 HR's and well that is a bunch of power from the left side.
On the 6th. Well you would hope that the starters would get there outside of a hick-up here or there....Jake.... but that is why you rotate guys with who is hot in Iowa. There are plenty of MR options on the team in Iowa. Add to it the main MR would be Cahill. He is that guy you hope can bridge the gap to the 7th. Then as back up you go with the best match up. Edwards figures it out he becomes a asset here.
I believe it is over blown. 4 errors is not killing anyone. Yes you could go range factor but that is now what you look at out of a 1B. You look at his O.
