Three times Javy and Happ failed to come through.

Happ popped out with men on 2nd and 3rd and 1 out, then whiffed with bases loaded and 1 out. Just hit a fucking fair ball on the ground and we score. Not smart.

reaction times. 100mph is pretty damn fast at 90 feet. Majority of hitters are RH.
Yeah but both positions are played basically on instinct not foot speed. Not many balls that you are taking more than a step or two either way. Idk I could definitely be wrong though

3B has more demands. Not really close.

Watch some Manny Machado footage and you will see what a gifted 3B can do.

Don’t you remember Chipper Jones moving to DH? And Schmidt? Aramis Ramirez? Scott Rolen? The list is endless.

That’s completely false. First baseman has to scoop throws all day long. Bad ones don’t get errors. But their teams do. First base gets far more action.

The reason teams hid bad fielders there was they get fewer balls hit to them, as you said.

But they impact the game more. It has always been hidden stat-wise because the errors aren’t theirs. But it kills.

Bauer is shutting them down tonight. Yu's outing not really too bad. Got to score to help him out.

Maybe Cubs luck out and get to face a reds reliever in the late innings and stage a comeback.

Cleveland has tied Minny for first place after being behind what 13 games and they did not want Bauer to be part of that? This guy has always been good. He was really keeping hitters off balance, by throwing a heater first pitch, then the on deck guy looks for it and swings at a ball a foot outside.

Thinking Cishek will be the next man down with a inner core muscle strain to give him some time off.

They tossed Bauer because Bauer stated that he is going to be a Merc until he retires. Basically 1 year hire on a contender. Then move to the next highest bidding contender.

He is a interesting cat that is for sure. To do it in his prime is very risky.

You are not wrong. But you are spoiled after a chain of Grace, Lee and Rizzo.

CINCINNATI -- The Cubs’ bullpen absorbed another blow on Saturday, when righty sidearmer Steve Cishek was placed on the 10-day injured list due to left hip inflammation.

Chicago’s bullpen is now missing four key arms: closer Craig Kimbrel (10-day IL with right knee inflammation), setup man Brandon Kintzler (10-day IL, right pectoral inflammation), lefty Kyle Ryan (bereavement list) and Cishek. Only Pedro Strop and Tyler Chatwood remain active from the Cubs’ Opening Day bullpen.

Cishek worked one inning in Friday’s 5-2 loss to the Reds, allowing one run to up his season ERA to 3.58 in 54 appearances.

The Cubs recalled right-hander Dillon Maples from Triple-A Iowa to assume the vacated spot in the bullpen.

Kimbrel is currently back in Chicago working through his rehab, and he is scheduled to join the team for its upcoming series against the Phillies. It is likely that the closer will throw a bullpen session in Philadelphia.

Kintzler threw a bullpen session at Great American Ball Park on Saturday with no issues.
