Rizzo: .918 OPS 514 AB's. No brainer
Bryant: .924 OPS 491 AB's as above.
Baez .788 OPS 419 AB earned the playing time
Heyward: .702 OPS 386 AB There for the glove. Bad contract thus far.
Schwarber .757 OPS 378 AB. We get wrapped up into his SO's and BA but he has a .312 OBA vs Baez's .310 And "we" ride Baez's jockstrap while bash on Schwarber? SLG: Baez: .477 vs Schwarber: .444 SO's 134 for Schwarber vs 128 for Baez.
So something is wrong with the way we perceive these 2. Is it in our expectations? We expect Schwarber to be producing like Rizzo and dislike his current production. While Baez with his numbers we have a positive reaction. Is it because we expected less?
At the end of the day they are pretty close to each other. Maybe we need to not put predetermined values on them and judge them by their production.
Zobrist has been pretty close to Heyward's production. .321 OBA each. SLG about the same .381. So basically the same player with the D edge to Heyward.
Honestly neither should be playing over Happ. .330 OBA. .517 SLG. Can't argue that.
