Cubs about to lose 6 of 8 scoring only 7 runs in the 6 losses...

Those who said they all but wrapped up division and just gotta win X amount of games and just go through the motions...

Ummmm nope.. this thing isn't quite over yet

I have no explanation for this cold offense, none. They got two great starts from Lackey and Hendricks and managed 1 fucking run between the two. Inexplicable.

Based on the participation (or lack thereof) in the thread today after a sweep, I'm guessing most folks have thrown in the towel.

Everything is ok because we already got over the hump last year, we are already world champs. Makes it alittle easy to deal with the bs now. But yeah lets get the Mets!

Cubs have an 80%+ chance to make the playoffs and people want panic? Sweeps are obviously bad and I'm not saying they definitely will make it but I stand by what I said before the homestretch: 5 wins is still an ok (not great) stretch. They certainly didn't set themselves up here but they get the Mets non-DeGrom starters. Get three there and then get two of three against the Cards and you're still ok.

I guess the reason I won't panic is if the team isn't good or consistent enough to win the division then I don't care that they won't make the playoffs because I've never really thought this team was capable of a WS run. Maybe they get there but there's been so much wrong at all points of the year that I don't really care if they're eliminated say September 27 va October 9 va October 15.

I've spent more time the past six weeks in my own head imagining the off-season vs this October.

Even if this team wins/won the division easily, I would have no real faith they'd beat the Nats or the Dodgers (it's like 50/50 then 40/60) so I'm not gonna be upset that they didn't get a 5-10% chance to win a WS.

They. Already. Got. One.

They. Already. Got. One.

Technically we already had one in 1906. So we really didn't need to win last year either.

Further, that's the attitude of losers. I guarantee you that fans of the Patriots, Yankees, Blackhawks, and Cardinals aren't sitting back saying "Welp boys, we already got one so it's all good. Better luck next year."

Yea they should win it...

Just wish they'd take an easier less stressful route getting there....

Who said they couldn't? I think you need a class in reading comprehension.

All I said was anyone who sits back and says "Well we already won last year so it's all good" is a loser. That's not how winners think, that's how losers think.
