Cubs bullpen is the only reason this isn't 6-0. Ohhhh, how this team just tugs at my emotions at every single turn.

This is my first IGT w/ the Cubs since we came over from IHN.

Is it usually this fucking Special person with all of these dumbfucks being negative?

All you have to do is visit the Bears during an IGT and it kind of gives you an idea. Generally, most everyone is insightful. Most of it is just everyone's anxiety of a new season and high expectations.

Rizzo can't get any help with pitches on the outer third. Glad he could battle back for that walk.

Wondering. .. does the home ump get a call tonight from his boss to tell him he sucked and forced hitters to chase pitches 6 inches off plate because he was calling them strikes and that he needs to tighten it up

Cons -- 1 through 4 hitters go a combined 2-15 with a walk and six strikeouts.... didn't produce with runners on, some more defensive gaffs, Lester not locating against lefties.

Pros -- The bullpen looked nice, guys were drawing out at-bats and trying to look for nice pitches to drive.

Bummer the Cubs couldn't pull one off on our Opening Day. But we also lost on Opening Day during '07 and '08 when we won the Central. So maybe a good omen? Who knows?

Who knows? That speaks volumes.

It is a 162 game season. Many, many, many things are going to happen, and even to the Cardinals.

Any team is a TJ surgery or significant player injury away from not being in the playoffs.

Every year when you are supposed to be competitive generally boils down to who can sustain the injury front because inevitably, it's gonna happen.

Pro: Jose Veras was cut last season so we wont have to deal with that this April.

Soler was worked by Wainwright. Rizzo as well even though the first K was BS. Ball was low and outside by a mile. Ross sucks.
Not an over reaction there. I knew Lester would be on a short string even if he was dominant. The rest is self explanatory. The best thing about baseball season. There are another 161 games. Dont fall off the cliff yet, well, maybe depending on your expectations.
